I did not believe the “economy of language” thing when related to Tolkien. So I had to look it up. An unabridged omnibus of LOTR clocks in at 1,147 pages. In comparison, Sanderson’s Rhythm of War (Stormlight #4) is 1,232 pages, and that’s for ONE book in the series instead of the WHOLE trilogy. Yikes.
