Bookity
- New releases: Fiction Vixen (romance)
- Book and publishing news from Dear Author.
- Probably the biggest news of the past week was that Goodreads started deleting bookshelves and book reviews that referenced author behavior. (What an interesting way to kick off Banned Books Week, Goodreads!) Some are trying out Booklikes as a possible replacement for Goodreads.
- Should JK Rowling have made it more clear throughout the Harry Potter books that Dumbledore was gay?
Think, Make, Learn, Do
- Vinegar and water might help you keep your cats away from places you don’t want them. (If it can keep Chaos out of the cupboards, I’m all for it! I must try this.)
Cookity
- Butterbeer mug cake. (via The Mary Sue)
Gluten Free

Reading Update
An Eagle River Christmas by Lee Pulaski. ebook. Too much telling/info-dumping kept me distanced from the story.
The Trouble with Hairy (West Hollywood Vampires #2) by Hal Bodner. ebook. There wasn’t anything wrong with the book itself. I just realized, about a quarter into it, that I really can’t read gruesomely detailed horror anymore, as it leaves me feeling physically ill.
“….zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz….” -Mayhem
I need toast perfume. I love the smell of cooking toast even if I can’t eat it. 🙂
Wish I had time to sleep all day.

The GR thing is… 0_0. Have you tried BookLikes?
Baby kiwi are so cute!
Warning. Rant ahead.
Obviously I’m going to have to go and find a copy of Invisible Man at some point and read it. One of the reasons listed for banning was first person? OMG! Are the board idiots? And ‘in 1983, the Alabama State Textbook Committee called for rejecting the book [Diary of Anne Frank was ] because it was “a real downer.’ *heads desk* As for Charlotte’s Web? I do believe if I lived in the US I would be like the woman in that Kevin Costner movie (Field of Dreams) where she goes to the school meeting where they want to ban books and goes off… *heads to YouTube*

When Andrew and I went to Stonehenge in about 1995, the farmer across the highway from the site had erected another Stonehenge, this one made from giant hay bales.
