Black cat fever

Today we shall celebrate black cats. (What? You think I do that every day? Um, well, maybe so…)

Last week Trish posted a picture of some very cool cat stitchmarkers she’d purchased. I went and checked out the lovely stitch markers Karen makes and ordered a set of black cats for very small needles and another set for medium needles.

“Hmm, these seem a little small and not furry enough to be cats…”

Aren’t they great? These are the ones for small needles.

And here are the markers for medium needles – Karen included a bonus marker for me – recognize Chaos’ brother Diablo there on the right?!! Now I need to start a shawl or something that will use lots and lots of markers…

Last week I took care of my neighbor Anna’s cat Sweets while Anna was in Hawaii. One of the best things about living in my building is that we exchange catsitting duties – so I went down the hall and visited Sweets a few times a day and one of my neighbors will do the same for Chaos while I’m out of town. Anyway, Anna brought back some very fun black cat swag for me!

“Well, this is bigger, but it still doesn’t seem like a cat to me.”

From the left, swizzle sticks, a very cool black cat nodder, and one of my wine glasses decorated with a little black cat that hangs from the rim by its tail.

Um, do you think Anna’s trying to tell me I should have a party?!

“Where’s the wine, Mom?! A glass of a fine tuna or catnip wine would really hit the spot right now.”
Hmm, do you think I should tell him that he’s not old enough to drink?

  1. These are such cute things! I love the stitch markers, but I would be afraid of people giving me more catchenage related things if I were to get them…

  2. Yes.. but is he old enough to drink in CAT years? Great stuff.. I love the bobble-headed (I almost said booble again.. darn it!!) cat the most.

  3. That last picture reminds me of the Fancy Feast commercial where the white Persian cat is served in a crystal goblet.
And I want to know the answer to the question asked by Jess and Carole above too.

  4. Chaos really is that curious. If I’m doing anything, he has to be checking it out. He’s not posing. 🙂

He’s also a very busy cat and keeps himself quite entertained with his toys and running around for surprisingly long periods during the day.

Bless sports mode on the camera…

  5. Sports mode?

He is very curious! And black cats are cool, but gray cats rule.

I’ll see you in the Enablers circle of Hell, Anna. Where would anyone be without us?

  6. Carmen gives a big thumbs up to those cute stitch markers and the swizzle sticks! (do cats have thumbs?). Very cute, and I love how she added in Diablo!

  7. Cute schwag!

I love my black kitty…I just wish she were easier to photograph. Of course, my tendency to decorate with black may not help in that matter.

  8. What a collection! Cats are very good at putting their noses into things. Willow tried to sniff a ball of dryer lint this morning and ended up sneezing twice.

She looked at me afterwards like I should have told her it wasn’t sniffable… like she would have believed me ;o)

Cute little black kitty stitchmarkers, and very thoughtful for the different needle sizes!

  9. Oh how sweet! That cat really is into everything – so wonder you are stumbling over chaos.

So, do you have one of those black kitty clocks with the eyes and tail that move? ;o)

  10. Very cute kitty stuff.
    And, hooray for black cats!
In addition to our black-and-white one, who often poses for pictures, we also have two pure black kitties 🙂

  11. I love those stitchmarkers and swizzle sticks! Chaos is so sophisticated, sniffing the bouquet…I hope he remembered to swirl the glass first to aerate the spirits. 😉 Take care, Chris! 🙂

  12. I did fear that I was going overboard with the Black Cat stuff, but I couldn’t help myself… so I am proud to be an enabler of my favorite cat-sitter! Thank you again, Chris, for looking in on Sweets!!

  13. Love your black cat booty and your black cat! Sadie (my black cat) and I found our way over from Janelle and Ticia’s blog and will be back to read more about Chaos’ adventures. 🙂

  14. How nice Karen sent a Diablo marker too! I’ve already placed another order….I’m hopeless.

Nice black-cat booty…I’m at least related to a black cat…my ‘little brother’ Jack is a 15 lb long hair black cat who owns my parents’ household. Known as LBJ (large Black Jack).

  15. Wow – your cat looks just like mine – “Hellcat” is her name and her attitude. The markers are adorable.
