It might be amusing to keep my camera handy for the facial expression when these are opened, eh? 😉 I finished the Fiery Charades (aka the Clown Vomit Socks) on Sunday. Again, these were knit from Socks That Rock colorway Fire on the Mountain (lightweight), using the pattern Charade at 64 stitches on 2mm needles. Each sock was knit from the opposite end of the ball, which had less effect than one would expect.
And the other side:
“Hey, socks on the floor! They aren’t stripey, but I’ll take what I can get. Besides, they do have some pink in them. I like pink.” -Mayhem
“Wait, did you hear something?!” -Mayhem
“Oh no, I hope it isn’t socknappers!” -Mayhem
Yay, first to post! Clown vomit, hee, hee. May you really have the market cornered on the wide eyed kitty photos don’t you? Chaos? Chaos? Where are you?
Now would be a good time to show how ferocious you can look. You still want to be a model for a “guardian”, don’t you?
They look great! Clown vomit… May! No ralphing now!
Mayhem looks like a kitty kaught in the headlights!
I like them! I like the little bursts of orange at the heel.
Very Matchy! They look great.
Wow Momatulip is right, those orange heels bursts are pretty cool that they ended up in the same spot. Mornin’ May and Chaos!
Cute as a button, May! As for the socks, I think they came out great.
Socks look great! And May looks VERY worried….
(((Hugs)))
Christmas stuff already? Overachiever. I love knitting that pattern.
Maybe May is hoping that you don’t think it’s HER vomit…
Look at that face!!!!
What a beautiful pic of May. Her eyes are so wide. What got her attention? Aliens landing perhaps?
Those socks will provide a bright, cheerful spot of color in the middle of winter! I’m copying you and getting started on holiday gifts now, too. just little things, though — hats, mittens, fingerless gloves.
Careful Mayhem, you never know who will sneak up behind you!!
Funny how the heels turned out so similar! (But good, of course).
i wish Mayhem had one of those thingies like they had in Aliens so she could tell when Chaos is coming to get her
Hooray for matchy socks! I have to admit that I like the clown vomit socks waaaay more than I thought I would.
I like the socks! They are very bright and happy. I’m assuming your sister isn’t a person for whom taupe is a bright color.
May is a cutie. I think she was thinking, “Is that Mom operating the can opener?!…No, she’s over here flashing that camera thingy. Darn.”
Hooray for you!
The captions are hilarious …
TWO Christmas presents done? You’re killing me, here.
that last photo of May is priceless.
The socks came out great – what a wild color.
Look at you go! When you’re finished, wanna knit my gifts?
I like the burst of orange on the heels – maybe it will make the wearer move faster?
Socknappers! Oh nooo! Mayhem really does have wide eyes. Your new camera is fabulous for catching them wide open.
The Fiery Charades came out really cute.
The pooling/striping seems amazingly similar. I like them! And May does look concerned…
Shudder – I went to see Dark Knight yesterday and now all I can think of when I see those socks is the Joker! Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!
wowee–that clown vomit is some color! hehheh
May looks SO much like Isis when she makes that wide-eyed face. we call it the “Surprised Owl” face. do you think it’s a black cat thing? does Chaos make the Surprised Owl face, too? Isis does it a lot, but I think she is surprised/baffled a lot, poor thing.
That is not clown yark. That is very nice clourful socks. With an adorable black accessory, I see…..
You’re on a roll with the Christmas knitting! I love those wide kitty eyes.
Christmas!????!!! Oh, don’t do that to me….:-)
They look great
I LOVE your socks and whomever receives them shall too. I made some socks with the same colorway about two years ago and they pooled and look completely different from yours.

I like the mixed up nature of your socks much better. Cheers!
Okay, so this may be a duplicate post, I need more coffee. But I used the same colorway but with drastically different results than yours. Mine pooled in an almost psychedelic way, whereas yours have delightful sprinkles of color throughout.

They actually turned out nice. Gee, sorry if that sounds snarky. The close-up made the socks look brighter than they were. All knit up in the pattern, the socks look nice. I think the recipient will be happy.
cute socks.
Lovin’ those socks 🙂 Hmmm, might have to knit mine up soon.
