I present you with a hitherto unseen project… the Neon Muppet Lovechild Scarf for Mama Tulip.
As modeled by Chaos:
“Thank you, thank you.”
“Wait, what is this stuff?!”
*sniff sniff*
“I don’t like the looks of this – let me arm the Paw of Death…”
“I will save us, Mom!”
“Whew! I need a nap…”
Enjoy, Mama Tulip! And remember, black cat hair is very insulating and definitely complements the lovely neon colors.Edit: For the knitters, the scarf is made from two skeins of Lana Grosso Tiramisu, 16 stitches – altho I’ve already forgotten what needle size I used! I made it with pointy ends because I hate bottom-of-scarf flare.
Yep – the added cat fur is for extra warmth – we have that at our house too!
Love the name, we’ve been watching lots of ‘Muppet Show’ around here lately, so I totally see the connection.
Oh it’s definitely his color!
The fact that you got a cat to wear a scarf will never cease to amaze me.
Oooh what yarn is it? Definitely very muppetlike. I like it.
Thank you Chaos, for keeping the world safe from dead muppet pelts.
Yay for pet knitting models!
You’re very welcome, Kat!
Little Hedgehog – I wanna see your pet hedgehog modeling knitting – that would be too cool.
Heather – Whoops! I edited the post to include the yarn info.
That is lovely! Mama_Tulip will love it – but beware she might want the main feature, the cat Chaotic, that goes with it 🙂 Hasn’t he got great colouring for a model?
I love the color on chaos!! It looks so great on him!
YEA!!! that’s awesome!! i can’t wait to see if she posts a pic of her wearing it! with the can opener of course!!
These pictures do the scarf no justice. Without a doubt, this is the brightest, funkiest, funnest, SOFTEST scarf I’ve ever had. It’s absolutely amazing. THANK YOU THANK YOU.
It really does look good on Chaos, too.
I will definitely have Dave take a picture of me wearing it and will post it very soon. 🙂
I love the scarf! The colors look great against Chaos.
You know, there are some blog posts where you read the title in Bloglines, and you start laughing before you even get to the page. I am comforted to know that Mama Tulip can walk the darkest streets without fear of being hit by a car, as long as she’s wearing that scarf. 😉
Such a handsome devil he is. The neon green bits in the scarf complement his eyes so nicely…

i miss so much when i am not here…
I have a funny coffee mug that says,”Cat Hair, don’t leave home without it”.. Amen to that
I love the scarf color!!

Imbrium – That was a particular concern. I felt it was important for US-Canadian relations to keep Mama Tulip safe in crosswalks.
And Mama Tulip, you are very very welcome. Please note that I cannot be held responsible if absolute strangers approach you and begin to pet your scarf. This is acceptable behavior among knitters. Not so much elsewhere.
Really, if I ever got hit by a car while wrapped up in said scarf, “I didn’t see her, I swear” really wouldn’t be a viable excuse, now would it?
I’d be more concerned that the driver would use the “I was blinded by her scarf and lost control of the vehicle” excuse…
Beautiful! Chaos Dahlink, you look mahvelous!
Good job Momma Chris
Love it, love it, LOVE IT!!! I bet that brightens up the landscape considerably, Katherine!
😀

Too bad Chaos felt the scarf was impinging on his personal space! It’s definitely his colors.
I once voted for a candidate in a local election because she’d come out to go campaigning unaware that she was covered in white cat fur. That’s the kind of candidate I identify with.
I’ve heard worse reasons, peevish.
Those colors do look mahvehlous on Chaos, but I’m sure they will on Mama Tulip too.
Whew! That’s awful bright!
Kitty is as beaute though!
Lucky Chaos, everything looks great on him.
Chaos the supermodel!! I think the cat hair makes the scarf even more special.. I also think that I would need sunglasses to knit with that yarn. “neon muppet lovechild scarf”.. that’s excellent.
While it’s true that mama tulip will be able to be seen from miles away, she may wish to stay away from any open flames or heat source while wearing her lovely new scarf! I’d hate for Chaos’ fur to melt along with the other “fibers”.
Chaos is a wonderful model and ham as usual. Thank you for your sympathy today.
I know Chaos manages to get EVERYWHERE and never misses an opportunity for a photo shoot, but you are so lucky he doesn’t ruin your knitting! My dear, sweet, little Thunder sits on mine, then tries to ‘FLUFF IT UP’ will his feet to try and make it EVEN MORE COMFY! The shock of this nearly kills me. Now he is BANNED from coming anywhere near my knitting. And you thought he was just so cute 😉
