Keen World

Problem? What problem? 😉

“Ok, I give up, Mom. What’s the point of this game?” -Mayhem

Having only black shoes simplifies life so much! And, obviously, I love my Keens

However, the La Jolla Clogs in the upper right corner (clogs made from interlaced leather strips) don’t love my feet – purportedly they’re the same size as the rest of my Keens, but they’re actually a bit shorter. So if a mens US size 9 (European 42) is just a titch too long for you, let’s talk. They’re very metrosexual! (The La Jollas found a new home.)

If any of you come across a pair of womens size 11 Providence Clogs (black), please let me know right away! They’re the pair in the lower right corner – my first pair of Keens and my favorite pair of shoes ever.

  1. I feel way so much better! So I saw a pair of the keen slides (at about 7 o’clock in your pic) recently and thought I might want them. Do they stay on your feet pretty well? I want a shoe that I can just slide on but that will stay on when I walk over uneven terrain, so basically the easy on/off of an open clog, but the stability of a hiking boot! (any suggestions???)

  2. The Keen Queen! hee hee. I think you and I ought to see if there is some sort of benefit program for all of these Keens we’ve been selling ‘through our blogs’ by constantly talking about how much we love our Keen shoes!! I’m in the process of saving up for a colorful pair (all of mine are black as well) for summer.. probably the Mystic or the Carmel. I usually chicken out though with the bright colors (have you seen the new orange? Wow!)though and go with ‘basic black’ to be practical.

  3. I once took in 4 pair of shoes to be repaired. The guy at the counter said…they all look alike! No, they didn’t…they were all black but some had ties, some were slip-ons or buckles. I believe in the power of black shoes;-)

  4. Ahh Keens, how they love me feet and my gimpy titanium gate. This was a beautiful post. I see a pair I have too. *sniff* Just lovely.

  5. So, have you ever gone out with mis-matched shoes? I actually have a few of those style – but I like the colored ones.

  6. Mmmmm, Keens! They’re my favorites, too — I have picky, problematic feet, and they’re almost the only brand of shoe that doesn’t make me limp.

  7. Chris- You need to get out of the comfort zone- and maybe try another color of Keens.

I heard that if it matches nothing- it matches everything.

    Live a little!

  8. I love my Keens. (Just one pair so far.) You have a great collection there. All very nice, too, makes me want to go shoe shopping!

  9. I would be interested in these Keens you speak of. I bleave they would fit my lovely duck like feets. I love the idea of a kitty/shoe clock. 2 lovely things all in one.

  10. There must be a Keen commercial in there somewhere. At least you don’t have to worry about what color of shoes you’ll wear. (LOL at Deb’s comment!)

  11. I am seriously green with shoe envy…
I have never owned a pair of Keens, but I’ve come close, and I am certain it’s only a matter on time.
I almost went to the Keen store at the Albertville Outlet Mall, but I had just spent way too much at Hanna Andersson’s… stinking outlet malls, too much temptation…

FYI- I’ve got a new seasonal knitting goals contest running until midnight on the first day of spring!

    Happy knitting-
    ali

  12. Never had heard of Keens, but I see that REI carries them and we’re members here. I’ve been pretty much an exclusive Birkie kinda gal….but I may have to check those out. I love the wide front, my Peculiar Toes refuse to be squoze, and I concur.

  13. I simply love that picture 😉 I can almost hear the confused mewing…

My favorite shoes are black Ecco’s (I wear a pair out every year)… best shoes ever!!! (in my world at least)

  14. Awesome picture. She looks trapped. LOL. I have mostly black shoes too. It’s easy to pick out your outfit that way. “Hm. What goes with black. Oh yeah, EVERYTHING.”
