Kim’s having a blogiversary contest. Stop by to wish her happy blogiversary before midnight PST, January 13, and let her know what your favorite FO of 2007 was. There will be at least one randomly selected winner.
Ali’s having a UFO contest, which should tie in nicely with many of the knitting resolutions I’ve been reading around blogland. To participate, post about an unfinished object by January 21, then finish the UFO by February 7.
Monday was Deb’s 50th birthday and today is Jeanne’s 40th birthday! Happy birthday to both of you!! Last night we got together at Deb’s house and had a little birthday party. Deb made our traditional flourless chocolate cake, and there were, of course, cards and presents and lots of laughter.
Deb recently got a new black kitty, Sammy, so of course we spent some time admiring her.
“Hmph. But I ask you, does she have these fine wet wool socks to lie on? I bet not!” -Mayhem
Poor Chaos, so fraught with envy, or maybe fear of loosing your divine attention? 😉 Just remember, Chaos, that though you deny it, you too have been a wee ball of fluff!
Oh, and Chris, thank you so much for you greeting, I’m truly sorry for not responding sooner.
Awww, kittens always look like their heads are too big for them!
Get your Mother to make you a blanket.
Boy sammy has that chaosal stare down pat……
Hee hee.. you even have folks around you buying black cats!
I remember being able to eat flourless chocolate cake ::sigh::. Someone pass me a consolation slice of cheesecake, will ya?
Happy day to the b-day kids.
Aw, hi Sammy! *pat pat pat*
Happy birthday to the ladies!!! Wow, are we all turning 40 this year? There are at least 4 of us at work, including *cough* me *cough*, and a few I know in blogland!
Mayhem, you will always be the #1 black kitty girl in Gandalf’s heart.
Do you think I should show them what made me laugh that much? Thanks again for *almost* everything! It was a great evening af food, freindship, frantic dog, and knitting!
Sounds like a great birthday party! Nice pressies for all?
Sammy looks to have very long and luxuriant fur.
Looks like lots of fun! Oh, that Sammy is just adorable. 🙂
Sammy is so small compared to Chaos!!
Sammy looks like trouble. I’d keep an eye on that one.
I wonder, does the odor of wet wool socks trump that new box smell?
Wow! Now those birthdays are a cause for celebration!
Sammy looks extremely cute indeed.
50? 40??? CHILDREN! But because I’m feeling benevolent I’ll give you a Crone’s Secret: believe it or not, once you get PAST 40 your life begins to improve; turn the “50” goalpost and you’l be able to SEE the positive changes, daily…and it gets better, visibly better, with each passing month. Don’t tell where you heard this or I’ll be called before the Board. Just sayin’. OH – and Happy Birthday, girls! As for Sammy…well, what can one say? Perfection is a black kitty. (What’s that? OH! Well yes, of course, perfection is also a brown tabby, Lilliane.) (Oh heck – all together now: “Perfection is a CAT!”)
Now that looks like a fun evening. Sammy is such a cute, fluffy kitten.
Chris- Life truly does begin at 40, and we as women don’t reach the zenith of our beauty until at least 50.
What a cute black kitten.
Ah….you obviously caught the exact moment that Deb opened our joint gift. Good job!
I hope Jeanne and Deb have wonderful years of ahead of them!
Sammy is a cutie. Perhaps she can be Mayhem’s protege. But then again, Deb might find that a bit sinister.
I bought one of those plastic ring-thingies for a cat I had years ago. She never tired of playing with it.
Mayhem must really, really love your socks if she’ll sprawl all over them even when they’re wet!
That picture of Deb needs a caption.
I love kittens. Someone said the problem with kittens is that they grow up to be cats, but I’m OK with that, too.
What IS it with cats and wet knitted objects!?! I can’t block without kitty hair.
hahaha I love that picture of Deb hehehe
Sammy is sooo cute, and fluffy, ahhh kitties!
They can be so jealous of each other, can’t they!
🙂
(((hugs)))
It looks like it was a good time for all!
That black kitten is so cute!
Sammy’s so cute!
But wet wool socks. Yum. Not.
Happy Birthday to the birthday gals! I bet Deb was overcome with joy at her gift.
Yes May, fine, wet, wool socks trump a tube-ball toy anytime. You are, as always, correct.
That Sammy has one evil stare. Mischief on the hoof, er, paw.
What a wonderful birthday celebration!
Sammy is soooo cute, I know you are tempted to get no 3 (as I am) but, we can’t, 2 spoilt, loved, tuna eating kitties is enough.
She makes May look huge! (Kitten pictures are so great. As are birthday parties like that one, I’m sure.)
Happy birthdays and cute kittens all around 🙂
