We saw the sun on Saturday! It’s been really dreary and rainy around here for the past week, so sunshine was a cause for much rejoicing – especially since I’m now allowed to go on short walks! Saturday was around the block, Sunday (cloudy and damp) was around two blocks, and today… 🙂
Over the weekend I started and finished a pair of toddler socks. The yarn is some Kona superwash that I dyed a few months ago.
“What the heck?! These are tiny! They are of no use to me as a kitty bed!” -Mayhem
“Hmph. I feel ripped off.” -Mayhem
But, May, they would keep your tender toes so toasty warm during the frigid Minnesotan winter!
Great socks, sorry May, you’ll have to find napping grounds elsewhere. Really tho Chris, I agree with May, you should take more naps, she IS the leading expert on naps, she knows about these things.
Hee hee, those are cute little tiny socks! I think they’d make cute little sockettes for you, May!
Glad to hear you’re out and about. Every little bit counts.
Hey, don’t rush! You’re supposed to be taking it easy.
Hmm! They’re still too big for her to wear and keep on.
I’m glad the weather is cooperating, but don’t push your recovery too hard. Maybe you can find a lovely place to sit and enjoy the sunshine and blue skies while knitting a few rows. The socks are absolutely adorable, you did a fabulous job with the colors. The striping looks like candy. Take care!
Cheerful, cute and quick. And made with your own hand-dyeing. What more can you ask for in a project?!
(And not excessively complicated; good recovery knitting.)
Cute socks!
She probably wonders why you haven’t just filled them with catnip and given them to her!
Great colors!
Yippee for small walks – small socks for small walks 😉
It’s such a nice time of year to walk enjoy the fall season. Poor May…perhaps the next pair will make her happy.
It was a gorgeous weekend, wasn’t it! Our Saturday noon Football game was a delight. Cute socks! Do they have a home? (Besides NOT May’s bed?)
Geez, Esau and Boo Boo think EVERYTHING is a kitty bed.
Yay for short walks! You’re making great progress! The socks may not be big enough for a kitty bed but they’re almost small enough to make kitty socks. 🙂
Easy does it – but not in a 12 step sort of way!!
Such cute socks 🙂
You weren’t kidding… they’re flipping cute! Awwww.
Don’t forget to nap. 🙂
Chris- adorable socks- they’d look great next to black fur.
But then again, what doesn’t?
YOu mean those were yarn one minute and wee sockies the next? I AM in awe of you lightning knitters….and listen to us all, Madame — NAP! THe walks are good, you need those, but REST! Otherwise when I come up home I’m going to have to hunt you down and put you to bed myself. So there. (Pamper yourself!)
Very cute socks! I think a purple and black striped pair would fit May perfectly and look quite dashing.
Glad you can take walks! They really help the abdominals heal quickly and properly. At your distance increase rate, you’ll soon be walking around the Cities.
They are so little, yet so cute!
Ahh, those are sweet, I know a little girl that would love them
Very cute socks
Poor Mayhem. The socks may be cute, but they only thing they would be useful for to her are toys. (Ooops. Sshhh. I didn’t say that out loud, did I?)
That is the great thing about having a toddler to knit socks for. It takes a day to make the socks. That’s a lucky little person you made those for.
Careful May or you’ll find yourself modeling some socks!
Very cute socks!
I’m glad you got to enjoy a little sunshine 🙂
Now if those socks were just a wee bit smaller & there were 4 of them….
The socks are super cute!
They’re adorable socks, May – perhaps Mom will make you one and fill it with nip? Then you’d like it!
Glad to hear that Mom is getting out and about a bit!
(((hugs)))
I have a two-year-old who is nuts for purple. I have some mostly purple sock yarn. I really ought to knit a pair of socks for her–especially now that I know how quickly they can be accomplished!
Hmmm. I have to ‘fess up that I’ve knit only 1.5 pairs of socks in my life so far, and they were all adult-sized. What sort of math do I have to do to make something for wee feet?
Good to hear that you’re up to wandering about so soon!
Glad you are feeling better and able to get up and walk around! Cute socks too.
Congratulations on your walks! Recovery surely is a bit at a time and all the bits seem so huge and wonderful!
What sweet little socks!
Heh, those are closer to your size than the usual socks Mom makes May 😉 Yay for walks, that must be a real treat again to walk in the fall before it gets too cold up there!
woo hoo TWO whole blocks!
take it easy grrrl…. we’re cheering for your healing process
What’s Mayhem talking about? Those look purrrfectly paw-sized to me. I think you should have the kitty model them for us. 😉
What is it about little socks?? They are just too cute to be resisted!
What cute toddler socks! And you dyed the yarn too?! They’re fabulous. I’m so glad that your surgery went well. I hope you’re back at 100% soon!
What darling little socks!
You know May, those look like they’re actually fit you, if you ever decided to brave the snow. 😉
Those tiny socks are the perfect size project for someone who’s recuperating :o)
Too cute! Wicked colours as well. I misread your post and thought they were normal sized socks you’d made in a weekend. I’m quite relieved now….
Enjoy your little walks 😉
