Mrs Pao and Pao are back in the UK, if you’re curious to see and read more of their adventures in the US. Can you believe they lost weight on vacation?!

Reading Update
Aunt Dimity: Detective, Aunt Dimity Takes a Holiday, Aunt Dimity: Snowbound, Aunt Dimity and the Next of Kin, Aunt Dimity and the Deep Blue Sea, and Aunt Dimity Goes West by Nancy Atherton. Have I mentioned how much I like this cozy series? 😉 The only thing that could make it better was adding a black cat – oh, wait, that happened. And the most recent book takes place in Colorado, Kristi!
Thursday Next: First Among Sequels by Jasper Fforde. It always takes me a few chapters to get back into Fforde’s rollicking Thursday Next novels, but it is definitely worth it.
Viewing Update
Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason. Colin Firth in a fountain instead of a pond – I know that must whip you ardent fans into an utter froth! 😉
Flatliners. I haven’t seen this movie for many years (probably since it came out in 1990), but it was still enjoyable – the hairstyles were only slightly distracting. And maybe it’s just me, but some of the scenes out in the city reminded me of The Lost Boys and of another film I can’t quite nail down… Maybe Blade Runner?! Something darkly atmospheric and rainy like that.
“Oh, how you will pay for this, Mom. This is much worse than that guy sitting on my cat tree.” -Chaos
LOL! It’s nice to be back and get my daily dose of cute kitties!
Oh, what’s he wearing? The UK bib?!
Oh Chaos…my heart goes out to you!
Poor Chaos! Did she make you wear the sleeves?
My daughters have given me looks like that as I picked out school clothes for them. They now are given free reign to dress as they choose (as long as they are decently covered). I’ve even designed a “special” necklace for some days.

I don’t think your kitties will need such a sign though as they appear to prefer going naked.
Did you hear there’s going to be a director’s cut of Blade Runner coming out on DVD? Ridley Scott says he’s restoring his original ending, which apparently is not very cheerful…studio execs made him change it way back when.
Awww poor ickle Chaos!
Though the bib does kind of suit him. I am pleased he has come out from under the armchair at last!
“Retribution will be mine,” sayeth Big Kitty!
Uh-oh….stay tuned for arm-pit licking!
Number Guy and I also lost weight on vacation – must be something going around the blogosphere these days…
On my, Chaos does not look pleased! Hope you had a good weekend.
I didn’t know it was possible to lose weight on vacation!
Chris- What do you mean they lost weight?
Poor Chaos- oh, the indignity!
The bib! Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Hahahahaha. Hahahahaha! Hahaha!
Ahem.
I’m REALLY feeling it for you, Chaos.
Hahahahahahaha!
Is he really wearing a UK bib? and not a hand knitted one – for shame!
That is a sulk if ever I saw one. Good job Chaos.
I love Lost Boys – I may have to dig that one up for re-viewing.
Your arm has not yet been ripped to shreds? Chaos must know that revenge is a dish best served cold.
That glare is the definition of baleful. It should go into the Feline Illustrated Dictionary (a rather short book, btw).
“Don’t it make my green eyes blue!”
Today’s Colin Firth’s birthday 🙂 I just rewatched P&P a couple of weeks ago for about the thousandth time.
And tell Chaos that he really looks adorable (or would he prefer handsome?).
I can’t believe you tried to get the bib on Chaos. Did you try to stick his legs down the arms, too? Put it on him like a cape. He might not mind it as much (don’t ask me how I know this).
One can only assume that the Pao’s did not partake of the fried SPAM curds at the Fair if they lost weight.
I feel your pain, Chaos! What some blog parents will do. Oh, the shame!
I’m sorry, Chaos, but that look is just FUNNY!!! It’s very sad that your consternation makes me laugh out loud!
Will have to look for Flatliners…think I saw it once. Over the wkend we watched StarTrek Enigma (??or whatever the last one was). Also got ‘Forbidden Planet’-don’t think I ever saw it. It’ll either be really bad or so bad it’s good.
Drat. Sorry, Chaos, I really wanted you to get away in time. *sigh* I guess your mom is just too fast with that camera of hers.
Wow, I haven’t seen Chaos that ticked since…well, I’ve never seen him that ticked.
Hehe – Chaos’ expression is brilliant! I think he knew we were mocking him with English bibbery when we met him. 😉
I also loved that Aunt Dimity series – I have all of those so will have to read them again soon!
Chaos looks very angry; I think you should be very scared.
Wow, you are making tracks with the Aunt Dimnity series! I almost picked up a few of them at a used mystery shop in CO Springs when we were down for the wedding. You’ve got me questioning my decision. I really need to pick up the pace on my reading, but there just hasn’t seemed to be much time lately. I chapter before I pass out in bed is about all I’ve been able to wrangle lately. I’ll look forward to the CO one though!
Jeff and I were just talking about Blade Runner and the mood that the director sets right from the first scene. I need to watch it again.
Isn’t the Dimity series great?
Wow, it’s a good thing Chaos loves you because otherwise…….
How is it possible to LOSE weight on a vacation? I think they’re lying. That or they didn’t eat enough fatty American food. 😉
Poor poor Chaos. Such indignity you’re put through. Come live with me at the dorms. I’ll let you bite anything you want (so long as it’s my roommates) 🙂
I think we might be living parallel lives, since I’m currently working on an Aunt Dimity book, too. And Flatliners came up in conversation yesterday. Spooky…
Poor Chaos. You tolerate your indignities well. I haven’t seen Flatliners in years. I might have to watch it again soon.
The idea of a new Blade Runner movie sent me looking for the actual book a while back, but it was so hard to get hands on a copy. I love Chaos’ long pantherish nose as always 😉
Oh my! Poor Chaos! He looks mighty unhappy!
Just wanted to let you–Ms. Queen of Contests Announcements–know that I am doing another Destash Contest. You are contest announcement central station!
The Paos LOST weight??!!!?? After going to the State Fair, and then spending the next day being stuffed to the gills with Wisconsin fare?? What are they eating in the UK, lead pellets?
I don’t know that I’d call the ‘changed’ ending of BR *hopeful*, but it is different from the ending of the original story – was the original ending closer to that of the novella?
First Among Sequels is finally waiting for me at the library! Hooray!
