“If I could get up here, it would be great. I would be the tallest, most fearsome kitty girl around! I’d show you, weird plastic cat!” -Mayhem

“But I’m really not supposed to be up here, so I’d better get down before Mom notices.” -Mayhem

“Whatever, May. Mom hasn’t been around, so she deserves to spend her time at home yelling.” -Chaos

“I’d like to knock that smug look right off your bobbly little head, you freakish plastic cat. You’ll be sorry if I ever get up there before Mom snatches me up and puts me in time out in the bathroom.” -Chaos

  1. It’s so true – when they feel neglected and alone, they do act up! Wow, you really do notice the size difference between the two when they’re stretched out like that.

  2. Oh my gosh!!! I am still laughing at those pictures!! Go May!!! Climb those shelves. Hey I hear they are doing another Mission Impossible and are looking for someone with kitty skills!!!!

    Chris, hope work is settling!
    Have a great day!

  3. We come home to “garbage parties.” Calvin (the cat) opens up the garbage and helps Libby (the dog) bring it into the family room, in front of the tv, to eat.

  4. ha ha ha ha .
I love that you took photos of her before sending her to time out (made her think she was actually getting away with something.)
Whenever I catch mine in similar poses, I ponder to myself how the heck did they reach that high in the first place???
hope you are almost out of the work-woods

  5. Wow, that is some crazy climbing! And my kids are impressed when our neighbor’s cat tries to climb on a chair! (Although we do see her on a fence next to our house …)

  6. Now that I’ve got two cats I’m always amazed at the situations they seem to encourage each other to get into! Thankfully neither of mine are furniture climbers.. but Jack tends to want to climb fabric (drapes, screen doors..etc)

  7. What naughty kitties!
Rippy used to get mad that my mom would have to spend evenings grading papers, so he’d get on the dining room table and parade up and down it, and if that didn’t get him any attention, he’d start bathing his private parts on my mom’s placemat. THAT always got him a timeout.

  8. How many moons did you have to wait to get both of them in that precarious position?
    Hysterical!!!

It really does look like they’d like to attack the plastic cat…
    (((hugs)))

  9. Oh, no!!! If I don’t play with Capricha enough, she starts hopping up on the pass-through from the kitchen and then leaping around the electronics in the living room. No good.

  10. but kitties are supposed to get on the highest thing in the house and perch there. That way you will have trouble finding them when you get home.

  11. Boy, you can really tell who the tall cat is in your house! (I’d like to see Chaos get his hands on that plastic imposter – just for the photo op – remember the clothes on the treadmill?)

  12. Love it — kitty time out! Now why haven’t I thought of that? Probably won’t work anyways, my cats think they are house royalty and I would get the royal stare down and a few missing hair ties to boot. 😉
