Contest: Win a signed copy of Michele Hauf’s forthcoming release (Contest Closed)

Many thanks to Minnesota author Michele Hauf for donating a signed copy of her June 24th release, The Highwayman, for this contest! This well-done paranormal romance is set mostly in Minneapolis (you know how I love that) and a cat shapeshifter is one of the main characters. It’s the first in Michele’s new Harlequin Nocturne miniseries, Wicked Games, which is set in the same world as her Bewitching the Dark books. (Don’t forget that you can download one of the books from that series, Kiss Me Deadly, for free.) Plus, Michele has a great picture of her black kitty Maxwell with the book, too. 🙂 Michele also provided some additional information about her books in the comments below.

To win the signed copy of The Highwayman, simply leave a comment on this post letting me know that you’re entering the contest. Please make sure your spam filter allows email from stumblingoverchaos.com and that you left a valid email address in your comment! The contest will run through 7 pm CDT, Thursday, June 25, and the winner will be announced on Friday. Good luck!

“Hmph. Why is it always books we find on the floor now? Where’s the yarn?!” -Mayhem

“I mean, books make ok pillows and sometimes they have black kitties on the covers, but they just aren’t as cushy or tasty as yarn.” -Mayhem

  1. You are running a lot of contests!
Poor May! I can see how books just aren’t the same as yarn.
You know we are expecting your entire sweater done or a baby blanket for a giant when you get back to posting knitting. 😉

  2. Ah….from my kitty to yours! If I’d known it was going to a cat house, I would have had my cats give the book an extra special ‘rub’ before sending it off. 🙂

  3. Ooo! Another Mpls book. Please count me in. It’s too fun to read these and see how the author fiddles with the landscape. 😉

  4. Bunnyqueen, I think I kept the landscape a bit vague in this story. It’s set in a Northern suburb (unnamed) though I believe I was thinking sort of beyond Roseville area.

The whole Bewitched the Dark series is set in Minneapolis and St. Paul. And the Wicked Games series is completely in the Twin Cities area too.

Hey! My cat got in on the act. Maxwell posed for a pic at my blog: dustedbywhimsy.blogspot.com

  5. Super cool. You can count me in! I’m sure my kitty would enjoy lounging on a book (if I put it on the floor, bed, table or couch… Heck, if I put it anywhere!).

  6. Love the black cat paw sneaking in Mayhem!!! Way to get yourself in the picture! Why do these humans put the books on the floor… they know they are of no use to you… I will send you some yarn in the mail!!! And put in the cat’s hat for a chance to win!!!

I have a puppy at home who, when he lays with me while I read… he licks my pages!
This is a convesation that happened just last night between me and hubby and puppy:

H: Are you going to stop reading that book tonight? (Elizabeth Amber’s Nicholas ~~ one fire smoking hot book~)?
Me: No, it’s one hot, tasty little number.
H: Oh I am sure it is, he is half naked.
Me: *grinning from ear to ear* He sure is!

Now while we are having this diagolue… puppy starts licking the book

Me to puppy: Stop licking my book so I can read.
H: Well, you did say that it was one hot, tasty little number. Guess he wanted to see if it was tasty.
Animals are hiliarous is their own special way.
Mayhem, I know he is a puppy… and you prefer cats… but he is funny!

  7. Well, if your kitties like the book that much, then I’m sure we’re in for a great read!

  8. Mayhem, there’s some catnip in it for ya if you pick me 😉

  9. I would love to read this book-a cat shape shifter sounds very interesting, and since I have four furry felines myself… thanks for the opportunity!

  10. How cool! I love reading books where the setting is familiar to me — same deal with movies.

Count me in, and thanks to you and Michele!

  11. Um, paranormal? Romance? Highwayman? This is a new genre for me but for sure count me in! I LOVED Lynn Viehl’s books. Thanks!

  12. My cat (who is not black) is sitting at my side as I type this. She says it is human tummies that are cushy!

  13. Sure, I’ll enter. Hey, have you read any of Erin Hunter’s “Warriors” series? It’s like a JRR Tolkien epic series with cats as the main characters. I just discovered it and it’s cool. With three sub-series of six books each plus a Manga and a few extra books, I should be busy all summer. 😀

  14. The Ramsey Co. Library doesn’t have the new book listed, yet. Hmph. Please enter me in the contest as well. Thank you!

  15. It is posted on my side bar… I just can’t resist putting pictures of Mayhem or Choas on my site!! They are too adorable! Go check it out… oh and I told my people not to bribe you with catnip or yarn for that I have already tried!!!
I hope you alll have a wonderful day tomorrow!
