Yesterday was the first Lyn-Lake Street Fest in several years, since the intersection of Lyndale Avenue and Lake Street has been under construction for a while.
It used to be a lot more crowded. Maybe things picked up later in the day.
There were just a few artcars on display – nothing at all compared to the turnout for the Artcar (and Artbike) Parade in July.
Car #1
Car #2
Car #3
This wasn’t an artcar, but I’m a big fan of our local company, Peace Coffee, so…
The Peace Coffee Mobile was right across from this amusing sign. Feel free to speculate wildly amongst yourselves as to what it might mean. 😉
I was also mightily amused by the location of the biffs. I know what my first redevelopment action would be! Heh.
Hmm. That definitely seems like more than enough pictures for one post. I guess I’ll save the fire juggling pictures for another day.
Meanwhile, back at Casa de Chaos y Mayhem. (Presumed not dead…)
*zzzzzzzzzzz…* -Mayhem
Don’t you wonder what those two were up to while you were away, to make May so tired?
Looks like a fun street-fest!
Great fair! I miss beer most of all. Mayhem, you look like an eel!
I love that the house with all of the ‘Porta-Johns’ has “plenty of parking”… I guess they weren’t talking about cars, eh?
Do you suppose “THE” Paul Newman is really the real estate agent for that house – cuz I’m callinn’ if it is!! Those cars are scary.
It always cracks me up the way they hang their heads that way!
I love this time of year – when all the festivals and fairs start up again.
What’s for sale – the house or the port-a-potty’s? LOL!
I don’t get the “decorated” cars…
what an interesting event. I think the kitties would have liked it!
Whoa! That’s a whole lot of Honey Buckets. The cars fascinate and repel me at the same time. Usually people do this type of art to jalopies, but just once I’d love to see someone take a brand new BMW, etc. and “trick it out” with flair.
that last artcar was pretty damn impressive, looked just like a dead cat on a cat tree
Good Morning Chris!
What awesome pictures – I love the ‘art cars’!! LOL
“Meanwhile, back at Casa de Chaos y Mayhem. (Presumed not dead…)”…. OMG – you are too funny!
Thanks for jump starting my day – I have no coffee in the house this morning – getting desparate!
Best Regards
L
Wow! I can’t imagine doing anything like that to a car, even the cars that my dad would work on when I was a kid (and let us demolish when he was going to take them to the junk yard).
Wild!
So Paul Newman came back as a Realtor, huh? Does she fall off that post when she falls asleep like that?
hmmm…a passed out cat always makes me suspicious. ;o)
Jack is a similarly odd sleeper; occasionally I have to check – just to be sure.
Sounds like fun! That is quite the Mayhem pose.
That cat is so flexible! I’ve enjoyed the car pictures – the African one was pretty neat.
Those cars are crazy.
Hez is in a similar position in my post today! How they sleep like that…..
Licorice Gumby Kitty
hehe, May looks pretty comfy. Glad the festival is a go again. looks like it was fun.
Those are some strange cars…
Cool cars!
That bike and beer thing is completely baffling. It reminds me of the 5k run (a run, for runners, I had perhaps mistakenly presumed) they used to have in Hoboken and by 4 pm they’d have to close the town because everyone was so drunk. Wha—?
I love those cars!
great photos, still lol at the house/portapots for sale
so, is the “for sale” sign for the enormous row of porta potties??? heh heh, I’m confused…. Paul oughta know better than to line them all up that way… it would so much classier if he spread them around…. heh heh
You guys have the coolest celebrations! There was a guy in our town who had a van decorated with old school toys. The back was papered with all the tickets he’d get for driving it around. He disappeared though. I guess all those tickets eventually caught up to him. 🙁
