I do still knit, albeit slowly. For some reason, knitting’s been tweaking my neck a bit, so I’ve only been knitting a few times a week and not for very long when I do.
Anyway! It’s time for an update on my sweater. See how much progress I’m making?
*swishΓΒ swish swish* -Mayhem’s tail*
And here I bet you thought my sweater pictures couldn’t get any worse, eh? Oh, how wrong you were. π
“Move it, Mayhem. It’s my turn to obstruct the picture.” -Chaos
“No! I was born for this!” -Mayhem
*Mayhem swishes her tail all the time. With most cats, all that tail movement would mean you’re about to get bitten or scratched. Not with May. She’s just swishing her tail. It indicates happiness, annoyance, curiosity – you name it and she’s got it covered with the tail swishing. Very confusing for the humans around her, isn’t it, Jeanne?
Have a good weekend filled with the happiest sort of tail swishing of your very own.
Looks more like a kitty blanket now! Maybe you should thinking about making a new one for yourself.
Happy weekend.
Marina is right; you had better just start a new one for yourself.
May’s a swishy-tail girl too.
So…details on what it is! I’m surprised Marina didn’t ask!
Our Giz’s tail goes all the time, too, unless he’s deeply asleep. With him, though, it’s usually just the end of the tail that twitches…back and forth, back and forth.
He can be purring deeply, squinching up his eyes, making biscuits…all the signs of a blissful cat…and all the time the tail is going.
Chaos and Mayhem see themselves in your sweater. What’s not to love about black knitting?
Nice cat bed you’re making, there.
Perhaps Chaos and Mayhem think your sweater is a long-lost relative.
Jack’s tail goes all the time.. but its more like a whip. You can hear it going “thump thump thump” on the hard wood floors.. lol.
Kitty cat with a tail tic? ;o)
Happy weekend.
Looks like they have claimed the sweater for themselves.
Have a good weekend.
Kind of hard to see any sweater underneath all that cat. It sort of looks like you’re knitting a cat. π
When our old kitty walks her tail undulates like a wave while sticking up in the air. The faster she goes (which is only towards her food dish) the faster her tail goes. It’s really funny to watch. She never has intentionally scratched any of us. Our neurotic kitty attacks without any warning at all. She seems to have missed that class in Kitty Etiquette regarding warning humans to back off by tail-signal.
The joys of knitting a black sweater are only compounded by photographing it around black kitties.
I haven’t tried knitting a black sweater, because I already wear too much black ™. I figure that I should save my knitting for color.
you knit two cats onto the sweater, that’s going to limit the sweater owner to non-allergy sufferers you know
It must be her version of hair tossing.
Nice looking sweater. I imagine.
I can tell that you’re making progress, as its almost cat-bed-sized now π
Chris- Are you adding the hood?
Chops’ tail is always in the form of a question mark, which is very Freudian.
It’s so hard to tell what is cat and what is sweater…
Are you knitting cats now, too?
You’ll never be troubled with visible cat hair on your sweater…
You have made progress–you’ve reached Mayhem body length. Have a great weekend!
I think that black sweater would be enlived by one white stitch somewhere, kind of like the one teeny-tiny white patch on my black Hannibal. It makes the black pop π
There is a lot of swishing going on at our house right now – and I’m not talking about the dog. Benny is swishing all the time – but as you may know Spring is his season.
Apparently his little procedure didn’t really get to his brain at all…..
You’re right, I didn’t think pictures of a black sweater could get much worse! π I hope you have a great weekend too!
Maybe tail swishing is a female thing?
Sorry to hear about your neck interfering with your knitting. I’m not sure I believe you, though, that there’s actual knitting in that picture. All I see are two, possibly three cats… (grin)
As big as a cat? Wow, you’ve done a lot of knitting! And the cat hair won’t interfere! π
Ooh, the progress! Impressive.
To Mayhem, tail swishing = Dude. All purpose.
Maybe May thinks you are knitting another black kitty and is trying to prevent you finishing.
Do your kitties ever massage you? My old cat, Sugar, used to get up behind me on the couch and knead my shoulders. Maybe you could train May and Chaos to do something similar and work those kinks out :-).
Well your sweater does look like part of the family. π But yeah, you won’t have to worry about cat hair.
Its kinda hard to see the sweater under all those kitties!
yup, can’t tell where the cat ends and the sweater begins LOL
Oh, madam. I believe there’s a cat in your sweater.
Some cats only swish when they’re miffed. Others, like Mayhem, flick and swish part or all or their tail to communicate other emotional states. When I sing to Nik, he’ll lay on his back with his eyes half closed and slowly, rhythmically move the tip of his tail.
well I think the sweater is growing… either that or May is turning into a sweater… oh dear.
I have tail swishers too. At first, it’s a little disconcerting. π It took me a little while to get used to it. (Especially since hubby’s cat is a swisher and the grumpy cat!)
Our boy Sly (also a black cat, but much bigger than May at 13 lbs) also has a massively busy tail. He’ll be sacked out, apparently dead to the world, and his tail will be twitching away. We actually named his tail since it seems to come with its own opinions and rules. π For example, you can pet Sly, but not Fred (the tail). You can also sit right next to Sly, but you must not intrude on Fred’s space unless you want to be Fred-slapped for a while.
