Karrie of Girl on the Rocks is having an interesting contest for knitters who didn’t go to Rhinebeck. Since those of us who didn’t go are probably going to feel awfully jealous reading about all the wonderful things people got at Rhinebeck, Karrie would like us to go stash diving and find some goodies. Post a picture of this loot (that you already own! and maybe forgot about!) along with a blurb about it and leave a comment for Karrie. Contest ends Friday, October 27. Karrie’s favorite will win some fun yarn (TBD).
Because I spent my blogging time last night trying to save a tipped over plant and vaccuuming up potting soil (not pointing fingers or anything, Mayhem), I got nothin’ this morning. Thus, in the best Miss Lulu Kitty fashion, let me distract you with these pictures of Mayhem, taken September 16 – over a month ago already! And look – she still had whiskers! According to Wikipedia, “When a kitten is cleaned by its mother, she may chew off some or all of the whiskers.” Mommy Chaos?! Well, there is the misguided nursing…
Anyway, I don’t even have any clever captions in me this morning! Yikes. *takes a big slug of soy mocha* So, caption amongst yourselves and have a wonderful day, everyone!
What a little face!!! She’s so cute!
What? A knocked over plant? Well, I never… Heh, I have one plant over the sink – how it’s still alive is absolutely beyond me.
Tigger – the almost tail-less cat after the incident with the halogen lamp last night – has whisker to spare, as you well know. Perhaps he’d share with our little Miss May.
Send some mocha over here, would yuh! I’m in a very similar state.
Was it the plant with dust on the leaves? Maybe she’s trying to tell you something!
“Work it, kitty, work it! That’s it, big eyes for the camera.”
A picture paints a thousand words, my dear, so you have about 3K worth of cuteness there.
I don’t believe that May would knock over a plant,
it must have been her evil sister,
the one we never see,
the one who has all of her whiskers,
thw one who lives bvehind the toilet!
Ahhhh…gotta say the the positives of a geriatric pet population are no longer cleaning the dirt piles from knocked over plantt and being able to have the toilet paper back on the roll. But can’t compete with the the cuteness factor – she IS one beautiful cat.
1. I’m doing the come and tickle me eyes.
2. Oh, go on. You know you want to tickle me.
3. I’m so unloved and untickled
How about those? Glad to hear Mayhem is living up to her name!
It was the earthquake in Hawaii that knocked over the plant. I’m sure of it. Those shock waves can travel for miles and miles and miles.
CUTE photos of May, too. Such a sweetie.
What a nice idea for a contest . . . although, I don’t remember seeing one for those who didn’t get to go to all the OTHER fiber festivals. You know, the ones that I didn’t get to . . . (grin)
*sigh*
Such a cutie!
What??? Our sweet little May(hem) getting into trouble? Perhaps you should have named her Tranquility 🙂
What a sweetie! Now I want to go home and kiss my cats.
Knocked over plant, looks like May is living up to her name, and Chaos is probably looking on gleefully
ahh the lovely clean up after the animals. Boy they really have us trained well.
Mayhem is adorable as always.
Those are great pics. They’d look good in a three-spot frame.
Sounds like May and Oliver would get along smashingly. Emphasis on the ‘smash’.
Chaos is training his mirror image well, isn’t he? Make nice for the camera so no one notices the trail of disaster behind those 4 paws…
That IS a good contest idea, tho’ I don’t know what I could possibly have in stash that folks haven’t seen recently! Oh…well…there is that 6-7 shawls worth of laceweight!
(((hugs)))
We can’t all be clever and witty every day….but, cute Mayhem pictures.
1) just hangin’ out, minding my own business.
2) see how cute and calm I am? I’m a rare breed, a calm, well behaved kitten.
3) besides, that big cat that likes to chew on me? he’s the one to blame. look at my face… how could you think that I did anything?
Interesting thing about the whiskers. I never really thought about that before. May, so cute! If only she would stay away from the plants.
I love that little dot of white on her chest. My parents had a cat like that once, but it ran away:(
Bathing, nursing, chewing off Mayhem’s whisker’s…..Chaos’s life of Reilly sure has gone to the dogs…….kittens.
That is such a cute pic of her looking over her paw!
I will NOT go get a new kitten… I will NOT go get a new kitten… I will NOT go get a new kitten… I will NOT go get a new kitten…
She looks so sweet and innocent! (but don’t they all?) And that is so funny that Chaos is turning into a mommy 🙂 or a daddy
Chris- Don’t you know that cats and horticulture cannot co-exist?
Such a cute little schnookums!
Must
Steal
Kitties!
She is such a sweet-faced little thing! *big smooches for Mayhem*
pretty girl – love that first one where she is hiding behind her paw. Thanks for the cuteness May :}
What cute pictures! I’ve got an orchid that gets turned over on a regular basis. Somehow it still manages to bloom.
So cute…..killing me…..want kitten now.
What a doll!
“I’m cute and I know it, now carry on…” Mayhem
she is SO gorgeous! (and so very ready for her close-ups…)
i finally managed to NOT kill a couple houseplants, then i went and adopted two kittens. go figure.
so now i keep the dustbuster right next to the plantstand. (plants are not-very-successfully duct tape and rubber-banded onto it–yeah, that looks nice)
this seems very silly. and is yet another reason (as i tell the always quite innocent-looking, yet potting-soil pawed, girls) WHY I CAN’T HAVE NICE THINGS
I am trying to resist the urge to get a new kitty and putting up cute pictures of Mayhem is not helping. Hehe. She is a gorgeous little thing… 🙂
Awwwww………… 😉
