Happy Friday the 13th!

Better not let any black cats cross your path today! 🙂

We’ve had a tiny amount of snow blowing around for the last day or two and the temps have been dropping to 26F at nights – big change from Saturday, when I wore a tank top, capris, and birks on the yarn crawl! The colder weather inspired me to pull out my Celestial Sheep flannel sheets last night. (Aside about these sheets – when I bought these last winter, I was pleased as could be. Cute sheep! On sheets! With stars and moons! *squeal* But, um, when I made my bed the first time, I had a realization. A realization that these were the sheets of a woman with no plans to entertain a guy anytime soon. Damn. I’ve become a crazy ol’ cat lady.)

Anyway, it isn’t easy to make the bed when you have two cats.

“I think there’s something under this sheet! Whatever could it be?! Maybe it’s a little sheep. Yum.”

“It’s kind of wiggly, whatever it is.”

“Not a little sheep! Eeeeep!”

I puttered around and did a bit of shopping today. I’ll leave you with two photos foreshadowing some of next week’s blog content. (This first one is so worth clicking to see larger!)

“My tail in this picture does not mean that I condone this content.”

“Hmm, why do I have such a sense of foreboding?!”

  1. Weeeellll…it’s kinda hard for either of us to avoid black cats crossing our path today, isn’t it? Personally, I think they’re good luck.

I love the sheets, but they’re probably flannel, eh? I’d make my husband sleep on them though.

  2. Jeez! Bibs all around!

The same bed-making sequence goes on in my house, though Little A tends to play the part of one cat! 🙂

  3. Oh, no! Chaos is being stalked by cotton yarn! The sheets are so cute – they set off the black fur nicely.

Enjoy the end of your vacation!

  4. My husband hates it when I pull out the flannel sheets. Ah, heaven! I guess we should have discussed his aversion to flannel before we married. He wants me to cut 2 sets of sheets in half and sew one flannel side to one non-flannel side. Right. I’d rather knit!

  5. now who told you that those fab sheep sheets were the kiss of doom?
love the bed making photos -and what a weird shot of coke-man & woman. hah!

  6. Imagine having 3 ferrets and a cat helping you make up the bed. 🙂 I don’t know, Rick would probably tolerate sheep sheets before flowered sheets. Course this is the man who would want baseball sheets on the bed if I would let him. 🙂

There are just no words for the Spinnerin cover.

  7. Mr. hates flannel sheets – says they are too hot; in fact he says the same thing about me — in a temperature way. Tig plays the same shhet game too. Must be a cat thing for sure. I started an entrelac scarf with some of my recent hand-dyed. Oh.so.lovely!

  8. Well, perhaps you’ve become the crazy cat lady, but…obviously NOT the perimenopausal crazy cat lady – or FLANNEL sheets would be OUT the (open) window! Is it hot in here, or is it me?
    lolololol!
    (((hugs)))

  9. That is one of the perks of having two cats ;o) I love their expressions in that last photo!

Nice Spinnerin, what year is it? I do wonder what you’ll knit from it with all that previously-known-as-bib-yarn ;o)

  10. Oh don’t you love that picture! I have that exact book somehwere in my library.

The kids in the bed is hilarious. Looks like they are getting along pretty well and enjoying each other’s company.

  11. Those Spinnerin folks are looking over at the Colt45 table (anyone else remember that commercial with Billy Dee Williams?) to see if they are interested in swapping some malt liquor for a bit of Coke (pun inteneded).

Will there be a Mayhem fashion show next week?

  12. Hey Chris – more modelling next week?! Yippee!

Yeah, I brought out the flannel PJ’s, add to that my pink slippers, socks and fleece – hey! Vision!

  13. It snowed here for almost 24 hours. I know I’m in Canada, Nation of Ice and Snow, but the earliest I can remember it snowing is Hallowe’en when I was in high school and pissed that I had to stomp through the snow to get my candy.

Yes, I went trick-or-treating in high school. Shut up. I love Hallowe’en. And candy. Especially Tootsie Rolls and those caramel squares, but I can never get the bloody plastic wrap off of them and I always end up eating some plastic. Mmmm…plastic.

    Uh, sorry. Carry on.

  14. Sheep sheets, flowered sheets or baseball sheets are fine with me, as long as Syd is in them beside me.

I pretty much accept her as she is, whatever she wants, I just say ok, as she lets me keep all my magic crap around the house (and that drives her nuts).

Then again, Im a man, so Im bound to drive any woman nuts with my ‘stuff’.

  15. That is too funny – I *almost* posted pictures today of Cocoa under the sheets. I don’t know how she does it – this time she was on the bed, ready to be covered, before I had even shaken out the fitted sheet. And she’ll stay under there for hours – she loves it.
It’s gotten a bit chilly here – I always know it’s getting cold when I wake up and she’s under the sheets/blankets/comforter with me!

  16. Very cute sheets! Max loves to play hide and seek in the sheets as well.

What on earth is going on in that picture? Why would they be sitting in water like that? Weird!

  17. Your sheep sheets are better than my faves – planets and shooting stars. Yours have sheep instead of planets!
I got a man even with my whacky flannelette sheets 🙂
