Hockey Mom is having a contest to guess when her second blogiversary is. She hasn’t quite decided on what the prize will be, but she’ll let everyone know soon.
The KnitPicks Shine I won in Cindy’s contest arrived Friday and it was the perfect thing for a baby sweater, so I cast on within minutes of opening the package. Only 20 more rounds on a sleeve, weaving in ends, sewing on the buttons, and I’m done! Hopefully an FO picture tomorrow…
I also started another pair of socks (must always have socks in my purse). I’m knitting these from some yarn I dyed, using the stitch pattern from Kristi’s Flatiron Clog Socks.
Jeanne did a lovely job of summing up our Yarn Crawl adventures of Saturday – check it out! The only pictures I took all day were on our drive back from Excelsior, where we decompressed with Deb at 318, knitting, noshing, and nipping. Ahhhh… Anyway, having the rare opportunity of being a passenger, I played with my camera. Can you find the full moon in each of these pictures?!
May has a question for everyone.
May, sorry honey, but no. I don’t think you’ll be as big as the big kitty. I’ve never seen a kitty as big as the big kitty. But don’t feel bad, petal. After all, it may get you out of bib modeling. :o)
I don’t think my smiley came out right. Let’s try that again. 🙂
Great night shots… I love playing with long exposures like that. Mayhem, you will be cute no matter what size you end up 😉
Mayhem – I think you’re just too cute. And I don’t care how big you end up, you’ll always be all girl-kitty to me. You should see how much I’ve grown, and I’m a bit older than you. They say you can tell by your paws. I have gynormous ones, so says my Mom. Love Gandalf.
P.S. Just so that we’re clear, I still think you have cooties. ‘Cause you’re a girl. Right.
I love those night pics. They’re so cool. I can see them hanging at an exhibit or something. 🙂
I think May’s gonna be a big kitty, but not as big as Chaos. Leaner, a bit.
Bigger! Cause you have to grow into those ears. 🙂
thanks for the pattern link – it looks like it’ll be the perfet pattern for your yarn – lovely.
what cool photos – I just love playing with stuff like that.
and May, dear girl, growing up doesn’t mean you have to be big… there are some good things that come in small packages.
I was a tiny poof of a kitty that Papa could hold in one hand, but now I’m 18 pounds, all man (ok, not as much man as I once was) and a tall. Everyone thought I’d be tiny, so you never know.
You do have a nice long tail and big ears though, but I can’t quite tell how big your feet are. Maybe your Mom can post a picture of your paws next to something so we can tell.
Don’t grow up too fast though, being a kitty is fun!!
Your friend, Boo.
May, dear, stay small and cute. You’ll get more boys that way.
I strongly believe that while paws will tell us for sure (paws down!) you’ll be littler than the big kitty by virtue of being “little-bitty-girl-kitty” you!
(And Meezer says, if you have Meezer blood, you’ll never grow into those ears!!!)
(((hugs)))
Little Mayhem or Big Mayhem? Is that any less or more mayhem?? ; )
Dear May,
I think you’ll be big, but narrow, so you’ll still fit into all the places that the Big Kitty can’t.
Nice socks! And it’s toe up. I might give that a go one day …
May my dear I don’t think anyone is ever going to be as big as the big kitty, but I’m sure you will give him a run for his money. Good things come in small packages is what I say ( all 5ft of me!)
You should have met my old kitty, he weighed 22 lb and was as big as my fireside rug ( mind you a lot of that was his hair – he was a ginger persian.)
I have to admit that even though I don’t like cats, Mayhem is super damn cute. I don’t think she’ll be that big.
Yes, Mayhem, you will grow up to be a big kitty – if the big kitty doesn’t eat you first.
Beautiful toe-up purple-y goodness!
Mayhem, you’re just too adorable. Whether or not you grow up to be bigger than the big C, the important thing is that *YOU* think of yourself being as big as you wanna be! 😉
May, I think it is possible you will grow to be a big kitty. One of these days!
I think May is going to be a svelte leopard type kitty.
She might be longer and leaner than Chaos but not bigger!
I would need to see your paws, honey, to decide if you are going to be “big” or not. If you eat all of your vegetables, I’m sure it will help. Just look at Thomas….

Just remember, May, “big” has more to do with attitude than size. It seems you’re on the right track. :o)
Ooo. I like the yarn your using for flatiron!
May, I think you’ll definitely be in the running with the BIG kitty, LOL!
May is going to be big, sleek, lean and gorgeous
You are going to have two big black babies to love.
your cat pictures are as entertaining as always, socks look good so far. And tell May not to worry she looks like she will be forever svelte
Dearest Mayhem,
Do not worry, as my Jack can attest, size doesn’t matter. The biggest kitty isn’t always best fighter kitty; and being the little kitty often gets you an extra treat or two.
May,
While you will be a big kitty someday, I don’t think you’ll be as big as the ‘big kitty.’ But always remeber, dear one: size doesn’t matter 🙂
I think May will be a very big kitty!
Oh May, I don’t know you’re a pretty big kitten, I think but pictures are so hard to tell. I think you’ll be as big as Chaos, but with a lovely girly figure.
I don’t know, May, 15 pounds is big for a female cat who doesn’t have a weight problem :o)
awww May you cutie patootie! I don’t think you’ll be as BIG as the big kitty but I think you’ll definatley beable to kick is arse every now and again 🙂
GAH I jsut noticed little may on the other side of you in your you and chaos drawing soooo cute!
Those pictures are awesome! Although I might have a seizure if I stare at them for too long. hehe
Those night pictures are just too cool!
May, someday soon you will be a big kitty but I don’t think you’ll ever be as big as Big Kitty. But what you lack in size, you will make up in personality and speed.
Can you believe I won? My little old haiku? A poet I am not.
Love those photos. How much DID you have to drink?
Dear May – no you will never be as big as the big kitty because he knows where all the hiding places are for food and he isn’t telling you. (Like on top of the refrigerator).
Great pictures.
Love the wool for the socks. Sorry May but I don’t think you’ll be as big as Chaos, but you are very cute.
May, sweetie, I don’t think you’ll be as big as Chaos, cause he’s male and he’s the dominant cat, but there’s nothing to stop you being prettier!
The ears slay me. Love kitty ears. And no May, I don’t think you’ll be that big. Cocoa is only about 8-9 pounds. One of the perks of being a girl – nice and slim!
Great socks!!! No, I don’t think May will be as big as the big one! 😉
Well, May, if you don’t end up being as big as the Big Kitty, you’ll make up for it in personality.
little sisters want to be able to do what their big brothers do… so, maybe someone is trying her darndest to grow up.
Sock looks like it’s going to be very cute.
May, sweety, you won’t be as big as the big kitty. That’s why he keeps cleaning you, he’s hoping you’ll shrink when wet. That way you’ll stay small and won’t threaten his food supply.
How big will you be when you grow up? Big enough, May dear, big enough.
I’m loving the night pictures! So animated and surreal! May is a beautiful darling and yes, I think she’ll get as big as the big kitty, she’s well on her way now!
Also, congrats on your contest win and FAST knitting *wow*
Oh dear, May! You won’t be that big! Girl kitties are never big kitties in my experience…but than, you never can tell now can you?
Oh, and Chris–318 looks like my kind of place. I am seriously learning so much about the twin cities area. It’s cool.
:O)
Mayhem- Size doesn’t count! You may be a little smaller, but you’ll be a lot smarter. It’s like that with all beasts, even humans.
May even if you are as big as the big kitty, you’ll still be a cute little baby girl.
How funny! I took some very similar pictures of chicago, and the full moon on Saturday.
Nice dye job! And no, May, I don’t think you’re going to be as big as the big kitty. But what a lovely man he is, to give you such a nice bath.
All I see in the pictures are Santa and his sleigh. Oh no! Is it that time again already!
Dear May,
I think you are going to grow up to be a sleek, elegant pouncing pussy cat 🙂
