Tidbit Tuesday

Hockey Mom is having a contest to guess when her second blogiversary is. She hasn’t quite decided on what the prize will be, but she’ll let everyone know soon.

The KnitPicks Shine I won in Cindy’s contest arrived Friday and it was the perfect thing for a baby sweater, so I cast on within minutes of opening the package. Only 20 more rounds on a sleeve, weaving in ends, sewing on the buttons, and I’m done! Hopefully an FO picture tomorrow…

I also started another pair of socks (must always have socks in my purse). I’m knitting these from some yarn I dyed, using the stitch pattern from Kristi’s Flatiron Clog Socks.

Jeanne did a lovely job of summing up our Yarn Crawl adventures of Saturday – check it out! The only pictures I took all day were on our drive back from Excelsior, where we decompressed with Deb at 318, knitting, noshing, and nipping. Ahhhh… Anyway, having the rare opportunity of being a passenger, I played with my camera. Can you find the full moon in each of these pictures?!

May has a question for everyone.

“Mom says some of you think I’m going to be a big kitty! Do you think I’ll be as big as the big kitty??”

  1. May, sorry honey, but no. I don’t think you’ll be as big as the big kitty. I’ve never seen a kitty as big as the big kitty. But don’t feel bad, petal. After all, it may get you out of bib modeling. :o)

  2. Mayhem – I think you’re just too cute. And I don’t care how big you end up, you’ll always be all girl-kitty to me. You should see how much I’ve grown, and I’m a bit older than you. They say you can tell by your paws. I have gynormous ones, so says my Mom. Love Gandalf.
P.S. Just so that we’re clear, I still think you have cooties. ‘Cause you’re a girl. Right.

  3. I love those night pics. They’re so cool. I can see them hanging at an exhibit or something. 🙂

I think May’s gonna be a big kitty, but not as big as Chaos. Leaner, a bit.

  4. thanks for the pattern link – it looks like it’ll be the perfet pattern for your yarn – lovely.
what cool photos – I just love playing with stuff like that.

and May, dear girl, growing up doesn’t mean you have to be big… there are some good things that come in small packages.

  5. I was a tiny poof of a kitty that Papa could hold in one hand, but now I’m 18 pounds, all man (ok, not as much man as I once was) and a tall. Everyone thought I’d be tiny, so you never know.

You do have a nice long tail and big ears though, but I can’t quite tell how big your feet are. Maybe your Mom can post a picture of your paws next to something so we can tell.

Don’t grow up too fast though, being a kitty is fun!!

    Your friend, Boo.

  6. I strongly believe that while paws will tell us for sure (paws down!) you’ll be littler than the big kitty by virtue of being “little-bitty-girl-kitty” you!
(And Meezer says, if you have Meezer blood, you’ll never grow into those ears!!!)
    (((hugs)))

  7. May my dear I don’t think anyone is ever going to be as big as the big kitty, but I’m sure you will give him a run for his money. Good things come in small packages is what I say ( all 5ft of me!)
You should have met my old kitty, he weighed 22 lb and was as big as my fireside rug ( mind you a lot of that was his hair – he was a ginger persian.)

  8. Beautiful toe-up purple-y goodness!

Mayhem, you’re just too adorable. Whether or not you grow up to be bigger than the big C, the important thing is that *YOU* think of yourself being as big as you wanna be! 😉

  9. your cat pictures are as entertaining as always, socks look good so far. And tell May not to worry she looks like she will be forever svelte

  10. Dearest Mayhem,
Do not worry, as my Jack can attest, size doesn’t matter. The biggest kitty isn’t always best fighter kitty; and being the little kitty often gets you an extra treat or two.

  11. Oh May, I don’t know you’re a pretty big kitten, I think but pictures are so hard to tell. I think you’ll be as big as Chaos, but with a lovely girly figure.

  12. awww May you cutie patootie! I don’t think you’ll be as BIG as the big kitty but I think you’ll definatley beable to kick is arse every now and again 🙂

GAH I jsut noticed little may on the other side of you in your you and chaos drawing soooo cute!

  13. Those night pictures are just too cool!

May, someday soon you will be a big kitty but I don’t think you’ll ever be as big as Big Kitty. But what you lack in size, you will make up in personality and speed.

  14. Dear May – no you will never be as big as the big kitty because he knows where all the hiding places are for food and he isn’t telling you. (Like on top of the refrigerator).

  15. May, sweetie, I don’t think you’ll be as big as Chaos, cause he’s male and he’s the dominant cat, but there’s nothing to stop you being prettier!

  16. The ears slay me. Love kitty ears. And no May, I don’t think you’ll be that big. Cocoa is only about 8-9 pounds. One of the perks of being a girl – nice and slim!

  17. Sock looks like it’s going to be very cute.

May, sweety, you won’t be as big as the big kitty. That’s why he keeps cleaning you, he’s hoping you’ll shrink when wet. That way you’ll stay small and won’t threaten his food supply.

  18. I’m loving the night pictures! So animated and surreal! May is a beautiful darling and yes, I think she’ll get as big as the big kitty, she’s well on her way now!

Also, congrats on your contest win and FAST knitting *wow*

  19. Oh dear, May! You won’t be that big! Girl kitties are never big kitties in my experience…but than, you never can tell now can you?

Oh, and Chris–318 looks like my kind of place. I am seriously learning so much about the twin cities area. It’s cool.
    :O)

  20. Mayhem- Size doesn’t count! You may be a little smaller, but you’ll be a lot smarter. It’s like that with all beasts, even humans.
