Reading Update
Artists’ Journals and Sketchbooks: Exploring and Creating Personal Pages by Lynne Perrella. Very good idea book/peek into the art journals of a number of artists. What’s particularly interesting about this book is it was published in 2004 – apparently the term “art journal” was just gaining traction.
Drawing from Life: The Journal as Art by Jennifer New. Very good look into the journals of 31 people whose journals fuel their creativity and work. Many of the contributors aren’t artists per se – an engineer, a volcanologist, a gardener, travelers – but all the journal excerpts are highly individual and artistic. Also, the book’s graph-paper themed pages give the impression that the book itself is a journal.
“I like these books. They are my books now. You can’t return them to the library, Mom.” -Mayhem
Chris- So cool about the waterfall. The water has to go somewhere? But where?
Have a good one!
A recent post from lorraine..Ten On Tuesday- 10 Things You Can Do With Blueberries
I really liked the reading as self-care post! Pleasure reading has always been my preferred form of escape (and also knitting). I don’t know what my brain is doing during that time, and it’s not telling, but it’s very important to my well-being.
Mayhem wants story time!
Have a great weekend, Chris!
A recent post from Brenda..Acquisitions: Daylilies and Yarn for Stripes!
I may be attending the Leonardo exhibit next Friday, too 🙂
A recent post from kmkat..Ten on Tuesday, the blueberry edition.
So much linkity goodness. Those bookends are the best – but my books are so jammed into bookcases I don’t need the bookends these days. Saw Leonardo on Wednesday. I feel better about doodling now.

A Pez movie? Um…
So, looking at those Old English words, I’m not surprised they aren’t used anymore. What a mouthful!
Mmmm. Grilled cheese.
