…and back in time. Me, near Abiquiu, New Mexico, in very early spring, 2004. Have I mentioned how much I love the Santa Fe – Espanola – Abiquiu – Taos area of New Mexico? The weather’s a heckuva lot better than here, I guarantee it. 🙂 Monday’s high in Minneapolis? +10F. In Abiquiu? +49F. Calgon, take me away…
“Big deal, Mom – here’s me doing my impression of you in New Mexico. I don’t see a difference.” -Chaos
Silly Chaos, the difference is that your Mom is wearing short sleeves and you’re in a fur coat 🙂
I was in NM this fall in the Taos/Santa Fe area and just loved it!
LoL, nothing like kitty sarcasm to keep yourself firmly grounded in reality.
You can be a sarcastic kitty when you stay inside in the warm all the time, Mr. Chaos! Mom’s cold!
Indoor cat in fur vs outdoor human in tee. Nope, no difference at all: each in its native habitat.
Lovely, wish I were there right now!
Ah, it looks so wonderful! Especially after slogging through snow and wind to get in to work this morning.
😀
Call Jeanne, book a flight, let’s go! Seriously…..
I used to live in NM and I LOVED it there… Hubby and I talk all the time about going back there later in life.
I really want to come and see your snow! 🙂
Silly girl, I come up with a difference of 39 degrees. I’ve always wanted to go to Abiquiú, never made it. Sigh. Just say the word though and I’ll meet you all in Santa Fe. I’ll even buy the first round at the Gowgirl.
That should read Cowgirl. Maybe I’d better go put in my contacts…
In addition to the places you named I fell in love with Chimayo. That area is so stunning and calming.
If only we could time travel…
I think it’s going to have to be the Taos Wool festival this year. Especially now that Anne’s moved to NM.
I went to college in New Mexico and on days like today I really miss the weather!
New Mexico’s on my must-visit list! My favorite place is Glacier National Park up in Montana. The mountains and sunshine, all the wildlife… 🙂
Chris- I hear the colors are unique, but I’ll go anywhere there is a fiber festival.
Warm thoughts! It’s a balmy 40 degrees here!
I really hate it when my cats start to mock me.
Warm and sunny beats cold and snowy any time.
Oops, that wasn’t Lucy, it was me. There she goes, mocking me again.
The desert southwest is beautiful. Someday I would like to be there when the desert is in bloom. Have you seen that?
Chaos, your lack of experience of the world beyond the front door (more than the vet’s office!) is showing.
Western Washington is nice too;)
I’d love to retire there – property was pretty expensive a year ago. Wonder if it’s suffered like the rest of the world.
mmmm heat!
NM is gorgeous–we loved it.
Cats just don’t get it.
It’s a slight but crucial difference, Chaos.
Wow, beautiful. I miss New Mexico.
My parents live in Pecos near Santa Fe, but I’ve not managed a visit out there yet. We keep trying to time a visit so I can enjoy better weather there than what I’d get at home, but the weather gods keep thwarting me!
Santa Fe is very nice. Maybe you need a long weekend in Santa Fe.
There’s nothing quite like a smart-mouthed kitty. 😉
Chaos impression… LOL!
Oh, NM looks beautiful! No wonder you want to go back.
