Who thinks the Vincent VW should be a standard offering?

Knitters, please brace yourselves before you follow this link. I don’t want anyone hyperventilating and keeling over, ‘k? Thankfully, that picture was not taken here!

Bizarre, tangentially knitting-related item that won’t be on my holiday list…

Monday it was sunny and in the mid-70s here. Today? 40F and snowing. *preshivering*

Random photo from 1996 to fill space and hopefully hide the fact that I really have nothing much for today…

If that worked, check out this license plate that amused me (a month ago already):

Eeek!

Here’s a nice list of the some of the November 2008 urban fantasy releases.

Reading Update
Hell to Pay and The Unnatural Inquirer (Nightside, Books 7-8) by Simon R. Green. I don’t think I’ve hidden how much I like this series. It’s good that John Taylor and Harry Dresden are separated by the Atlantic. (And contained within their respective authors’ brains, too, I suppose).
Night’s Master by Amanda Ashley. Heh. Just as good as you’d expect from the title. Ahem. Please don’t all trample yourselves running out to purchase this book. Really. I couldn’t stand the guilt.
Divine Fire by Melanie Jackson. The working title for Divine Fire was Lord Byron vs. Dr. Frankenstein. 🙂 This was actually a rather good. No vampires, and sure to be particularly interesting to those with a good grounding in the classics (unlike me). Now, the second book in the series, Divine Madness, featuring Ninon de Lenclos, did have vampires and was not very good at all. The third book, Divine Night, featured Alexandre Dumas and was promising… until I realized there were parts where the author was plagiarizing herself from Divine Madness. Word for word.
Faefever (Fever Series, Book 3) by Karen Marie Moning. I loved the first two books (Darkfever and Bloodfever) and this one was very intense up until the completely evil cliffhanger ending. Especially since I’d somehow gotten the idea that this was to be a trilogy, so I thought things would be neatly tied off at the end of this book. If you’re following this series, I’d wait to read Faefever until after Book 4 comes out.
Killing Moon and Shadow of the Moon (Moon Series, Books 1 & 5) by Rebecca York. Werewolves, no vampires. I enjoyed these and will definitely be reading more from this series.

“Hey, baby, what’s your sign? Oh yeah, Mom said that vet thing was just a vicious rumour and that I shouldn’t worry about it. Whew.” -Chaos

  1. I’m going to enjoy my last day of temperature in the 60s 😉 If the weatherperson got it right, it goes downhill tomorrow!

You are so easily fooled, Chaos.

  2. Good on you for the cliffhanger heads up.
Number Guy decided to wait to read Scarlet until Tuck is published because I told him there was a cliffhanger ending. This is the same guy who actually growled and stomped across the apartment when he first heard the words, “Mr Worf, fire”

  3. Snow already? *sigh*

I read this morning that the Plains got four feet of snow and then I checked my forecast – sunny and sixteen. It’s supposed to rain all weekend, though. Boo.

  4. Van Go should have stopped with the side panels. They look neat, but the flowers on the fenders don’t match. My kitties would make that sweater dryer into a hammock. Either that or my girls would turn it into a trampoline for Barbie.

  5. Wow, thanks for the warning for that link. Don’t think I could have handled it otherwise 🙂 And thank goodness it wasn’t one of your angelic kitties.

  6. I have that exact sweater rack. When I use it I turn on the ceiling fan. The part of the sweater farthest from the center of the room is always still damp when the rest is dry. Hence, the weird sweater dryer thingie probably WOULD dry your sweater 75% faster. If one could quit giggling at it long enough to buy it, that is.

  7. lol at chaos cheesecake photo. Yikes on the yarn mess! huh? sweater dryer…seriously! cute bug! Hey, where the heck do you come across all these bizaar links, lol. (luv em)

  8. My favorite local license plate, which I only saw once, was on a Prius and read “not smug” – this is for the South Park fans – they had a show about one of the guys buying a Prius and moving to San Francisco, where everyone is “smug” about being so green. It was hilarious!

  9. Thank goodness I’ve always caught Isadora before she’s wreaked that level of havoc on my yarn. Just looking at the picture makes me stomach clench up.

  10. LOL at the first link. I love VW, I always wanted one, but I also like the Smart car, but alas I have 4 kids that require a driver so I have to stick with my gas guzzling SUV

  11. Well, Chaos, I hope the vet thing is just a rumor. My family’s girl kitty likes the vet, and she purrs so much there that the vet has to distract her to hear her heart beat.

The first link is hilarious, since it isn’t my knitting.

    Have a great weekend!

  12. Fabulous links and pictures all around! I need to post a pic of my favorite car in Chicago sometime soon.

BTW, the caption on that sweater dryer picture is hilarious.

  13. Hey, a van Gogh beetle! The insurance agent down the road from us has a Smart Car. And I have that sweater dryer, without the bizarre tube blowing thingy.

Chaos you sexy thing, Katie is going to be putting your picture up on the wall.

  14. I am so glad Java shows no interest in yarn whatsoever. Especially since I still have the stash strewn about the house for ‘reorganizing’.

  15. I think I had a small heart attack when I clicked on the first link! That would be my nightmare. But as it stands Kobe and I have an understanding since we started living together two years ago…if he touches my yarn, he goes back to the human society. (of course I would NEVER send him back, but the threat has kept him away from the yarn since then!

  16. That smart car license plate works on several levels. I came home to a similar yarn scaterrage situation the other day and two kittens looking innocently at me. *sigh* but now we only have one kitten 🙁
