A few oddiments… I’ve made some progress on my Sunny Sock.
Most of it while I was hanging out with some coworkers after work on Thursday. It was 82F. In April. In Minnesota. We drank and were merry.
I’m also making quite a bit of progress on the cage liner that I’ll send to Chris on Monday for her local Humane Society. Sadly, I’m almost out of orange Canadiana, so I’ll be switching to all black or to green and black.
“Helloooo? Is anybody in there? Just nod if you can hear me.”
“Smells… orange.”
Here are a few more songs for the playlist – some from the comments yesterday and some from cds I picked up at the library:
- Wimoweh (The Lion Sleeps Tonight) – Nanci Griffith
- Under My Thumb – The Rolling Stones
- Year of the Cat – Al Stewart
- Slappin’ on My Black Cat Bone – Tony Glover, Dave Ray, Big Joe Williams, & Spider John Koerner
- Devil’s Gonna Get You – Bessie Smith
- Black Cat Moan – Tiny Parham & His Musicians
- Black Cat, Hoot Owl Blues – Ma Rainey & Her Tub Jug Washboard Band
- Black Cat Bone – Lightnin’ Hopkins
- Black Ghost Blues – Lightnin’ Hopkins
It’s sunny and warm here, so I’m going to clean up my bike and hit the trails. Have a great weekend!
Beautiful weather indeed! Your colours for Project Spectrum are warm and sunny too.
Cute Chaos – you make me want to go play with kitties but I have to work :o( Maybe I’ll take a day to goof off later this week to make up for this lost Saturday.
It’s been in the 80s here this past week. We usually have warm weather by April but not quite this warm.
Chaos makes a good foot rest. 🙂
I’m really enjoying the warm weather, too, but finding it quite distracting. Surprised?
Whooo Hoooo!!!! Have a great ride! Just got back from mine—bugs and all :o)
Indeed, the weather is intoxicating. I took the pooch for a really long walk yesterday afternoon. She’s out at the farm today and it makes me kind of wish that Tigger was leash trained! Hope the ride was fum.
I love the yummy yellow socks!
I thought maybe you were knitting Choas into that liner. It could be true! I see black in that yarn.
Sunny and warm! I’m so jealous…
It’s raining. Again. Bah. Have fun on the trails – I’m going to grab a book, the cat and a latte.
Have a great time biking!! It’s a perfect weekend for it here too!
I like the sunny sock. And the Hallowe’en black and orange.
I looks like Chaos got knitted into your sock! I think he should stay clear of your apparently dangerous dpns.
Isn’t the weather just beautiful? I love how happy Chaos looks in the sun in your sock picture. That’s a good looking sock so far, and I’m not a big fan of yellow usually.
I’m so glad someone suggested Year of the Cat — when you started talking about a Chaos playlist, that was the first song I thought of! And I kept meaning to make a list, but…..
Huh, I’ve always wondered what orange smelled like.
orange and yellow – and sunshine with a black cat! Love your socks! And Chaos is too cool sniffing out the orange…
(((hugs)))
Oh! Oh! I have another one for your list! “The Cat Came Back” sung by the Flying Fish Sailors. (The same group that sings “Poke You in the Eye” which I use for the Pointy Sticks podcast intro.)
Wow, Chris, that’s some group of songs that you collected! Right on!! And as for the knitting social life … you are the most amazing commenter I’ve ever met. You deserve an award for commenting! Not only are you the first person to generally comment on my blog, whenever I comment on someone else’s blog, I always notice that you’ve been there first. It’s my goal to some day comment somewhere before you. 🙂 You must really keep a close eye on your bloglines list …
Sunny and warm!? We’ve got cold and rainy, and probably a bunch of kids Easter egg hunting in my living room tomorrow instead of the backyard!
Enjoy your great weather and have a great Easter!
A sunny sock and a black cat in the sun – what could be better?
My dad was saying how warm it has been up there. You’ve actually been warmer than us the past two days! Crazy!
I love your sunny sock, it is great and, well, umm, Sunny!
The weather is doin’ some screwy things around all of us eh? It was soooo cold here yesterday! – so glad you had some real sunshine!
I just love those Chaos pictures. I wonder if he knows he’s world famous? sssshhh, don’t tell him, it’ll go to his head 🙂
Great beer mug picture!
Happy Easter (and trail riding) – I didn’t notice Chaos was being so cute in that first picture. He really is a remarkably playful cat! ;o)
What a great playlist! And, wow, Chaos sniffs yarn, too. 🙂
Knitting at Happy Hour is the BEST!
