Many thanks to Val Kovalin for donating an ebook copy two ebook copies of her forthcoming m/m romance, Wicked Cool, for a lucky commenter to win! Wicked Cool will be available from Amber Quill Press on September 19.
Junk removal specialist Stu Van der Meer has been burned before in love affairs with corporate professionals who underestimate him as a blue-collar guy who’s good with his hands. When he meets property manager Brian Hawthorne, he knows that he shouldn’t get involved with him, especially since he senses that Brian might be in serious trouble.
However, he can’t ignore their immediate sexual chemistry. He also can’t deny his curiosity about Brian’s secret past, specialized knowledge, and unusual accent. Brian has something to hide, and it tests the limits of each man’s willingness to trust the other as Stu pursues the truth. Is Brian a criminal? A victim? Is he only using Stu as a distraction from his fears? As their relationship deepens, Stu must decide what risks he will take to protect them when Brian faces a threat from the past.

About Val
I started by reviewing m/m gay romance fiction, which led me to writing it, but I’m definitely a reader at heart. I love analyzing fiction, which makes reviewing a favorite hobby. I review with Reviews by Jessewave and for the All Romance Ebooks newsletter. I publish m/m fiction with Loose Id and Amber Allure. As a reviewer, I know not every reader likes every book, so I’m okay with negative reactions to my work. I like humor, strong plots, and complicated characters, and hope to offer you the same. I also like miniatures, minimalism, unusual junk, and animals of all sizes, especially reptiles. Thanks for reading!

Here’s me, please enter me! 🙂
Exciting, was it a spider?
A recent post from blodeuedd..Review- Songs for A Teenage Nomad – Kim Culbertson
But the real question is…will Chaos eat it either way?
Me me. If it’s a spider step on the damn thing already.
A recent post from Tam..I seem to be back in the riding saddle
If there is yarn in the room it’s fuzz….drat!
A recent post from margene..My Garden Thing
Either way Chaos, you’ll probably end up eating it like my guys, and your Mom will end up cleaning it like I do. Inevitably.
A recent post from Brigitte..Its Been a Year!!
Melanie: He’ll probably keep staring at it. Then May will come along and eat it either way. 😀
A recent post from Chris..Ebook Giveaway- Wicked Cool by Val Kovalin
Either way, Chaos, if you pounce on it, it dies. Have at it!
Sounds like another good read. 😉 I entered the last one. I’ll stay out of this one.
Thank you, Chris! You are the best. 🙂 And I’m with Tam on this one: If it’s a spider step on the damn thing already!

That book cover photo cracked me up today. Seriously–who carries around giant tired while wearing unbuttoned pants on the verge of falling down?
Oh wait…you mean those cover photos aren’t intended to be realistic? Seriously? And here I was wondering why I wasn’t living in the “buff dudes walk around shirtless all day” part of the country!
A recent post from Marsha..Looking for culinary inspiration
Chris- Oh look- it’s Michelin Man!
A recent post from Lorraine..Peaches and Pussycats
I’m definitely with Marsha on this one. The cover is funny (though not funny in the same way as a misadventure). I know I carry tires in just a bra and a short skirt that has a strategic tear (or a partially undone zipper). Doesn’t everybody?
A recent post from Seanna Lea..knitter dreams
Count me in, please
OK- I want to know what is going on with that necklace err chain, that’s wicked!
Count me in for the book.
Awww-Chaos don’t let it get away.
Such contemplation is important in life Chaos.
A recent post from Rebekah..My Office is Taking Labor Day Weekend Way To Literal
I think the poor guy is just having a bad time with anything metal. His zipper is broken and the latch on his necklace has come loose. I hope there aren’t any barbell piercings causing difficulties anywhere else! 🙂
The story sounds great. Please enter me in the contest.
I think this sounds good. Please count me in.
Please count me in. And remind Chaos that it’s part of his job as a cat to take care of any potential spiders in the house (or so I’ve always told my cats, and mostly they seem to agree).
Count me in please. 🙂
Chaos, whatever it is… get it!!!!!!!!
A recent post from Lily..Lift Your Voice by TA Chase
Put my name in the ring, please.
My hand is in the air again! (Yo, kitties, would one of you leap up and grab it for me?)
A recent post from K. Z. Snow..Electric Melty Tingles excerpt
Well, whatever it is, it must be darn good Chaos and when you do catch it or play with it until it is edible – enjoy!! 🙂
Your Humble Servent
PS:
I think the torso featured on Ms. Kovalin’s book should be featured on Misadventures! wow!!
Oh I like that cover. The story sounds good too. Please count me in. 🙂
A recent post from Tracy..Review- Meet Me In Manhattan by Judith Arnold – Book Tour Info and Book Giveaway

If he keeps his pants undone, they might fall down while he’s carrying those tires, and then he will fall down, and then he won’t be Wicked Cool anymore no matter how sculpted his abs are. I don’t think he is thinking things through very well.
A recent post from Brenda..A Hat for Aunt Susan
Nice necklace.
Hopefully it’s a spider that will amuse you and then flee the house.
