  1. Are you saying that your ducks are dangerous in Minnesota? Some kind of Killer Duck Rampage is going on?

Be safe, Chaos! Fortify yourself with tuna for the coming onslaught.

  2. Um… is that an emergency toboggan, to be used if any ducks fall through the ice?

I love how they write “EMERGENCY ONLY” in bold letters. How often do people misappropriate those things, I wonder?

We have the signs that say “bridge may freeze” here in Ohio, but nothing quite that seasonal.

Great picture! Here’s hoping spring springs SOON!

  3. I think that if you can’t figure out whether that lake is frozen or not during this season (in that picture especially..) you deserve to drown. Just call it natural selection..

  4. You never know what kind of idiot got himself killed in there by trying to walk on water. The city probably got sued, and then you end up with a dumb-dumb sign. I’ve seen it before.

  5. I’m wondering if there are any fish houses at the bottom of that lake? I’ve seen way too many vehicles! and fish-houses out on iced parts of melting lakes… that sign is for those people ;o)

Anyway, glad to see it looks like a break is coming in the weather there! Spring! Err.. that is the short month before Summer, right? j/k

  6. OMG, ice! I mean, like frozen lake! Sorry, California native. I’m used to signs about riptides and undertows. I thought it was the duck, even though the sign AND the caption mention ice. Duh.

  7. Looks like Lake of the Isles to me, or maybe Cedar. I live south of Lake Harriet myself. It IS is beautiful city (during those fleeting 2-1/2 weeks of summer).

  8. Ha ha!! We took KT to the park on saturday and the sledding hill actually had a sign that said “Closed Due to Lack of Snow”. I was going to go back to take a picture of it for the same reason you posted this pic. Duh-er?
