Not quite gale force…

…but with our warmer weather (nearly 70F) yesterday, we also had wind advisories and winds gusting to 40 mph! Still no green in my neighborhood.

*sniff* Please keep the Craftylilly family in your thoughts – their beloved kitty, Wiji, fell and was severely injured yesterday and now is no longer with them. 🙁

V’s been very busy and hasn’t blogged much in recent memory, so to entice people back, she’s having a contest. Guess what she named her Webkinz (by 9 pm EDT, April 17) and you could win a kit for an adorable hat.

What sort of crazy, completely over-the-top thing would the Best Aunt Ever be doing for an incipient nephliece? Share your ideas with Michaele by midnight MDT, May 1, and you could win a puking animal creamer or other wondrous prizes! You can enter as many times as you’d like, and the contest is not limited to knitters. (This should give you an idea of just how far Michaele is willing to go, knitwise, to be the Best Aunt Ever.)

And really, I am knitting! I actually have two projects nearly done. Here’s a tease for one:

Yes, I do know it’s black and purple, Marina. 😛

Oh oh – obviously some of you made eye contact with May yesterday

“Still waiting… Your feeble ‘behind-the-screen’ excuses are pathetic. I grow displeased.” -Mayhem

  1. Monday was 81 for the high. Yesterday it snowed and this morning we have new snow again. That’s spring time for you!
I’m staying away from May today!

  2. 🙁 Poor little Wiji…

And I think it doesn’t quite look socky – but then again, what do I know?

Oh, and Gandalf again sez that he’ll gladly play fetch with May, as long as she doesn’t mind coming to his house in Toronto to play.

  3. Thanks for the mention. 🙂 I totally sounds like a 9 year old blogger now don’t I? Haha! I’d like to regress though…

Mmmm…black and purple goodness! Is it secret knitting or are you just being a tease?

  4. thanks for the shout out. I don’t know what May is complaining about. As one of the two most famous kitties on the web, she is regularly showered with treats from the people on the other side of the screen!

  5. Very pretty knitting! Looking forward to seeing more of it.

May is reminding me this morning of Lady Catherine de Bourgh from Pride and Prejudice: “I am most seriously displeased!” Although I don’t really see Lady Catherine chasing after a hot pink mouse…

  6. I had to count my young children periodically yesterday to make sure I hadn’t lost any to the wind… as it was out first actually nice day and they spent most of it outside.

    Happy knitting-
    ali

  7. Uh oh, maybe there’s not enough of us to keep May busy. 😉

Sending green thoughts your way. This past week, our trees are finally getting their leaves.

  8. Wow. I was really behind so this will have to fix comments for the past 3 posts! LOVED the you-tube video…heheh I’m partial to the cat yodeling!
And your purple and black knitting looks great – can’t wait to see what it is!
Green isn’t all it’s cracked up to be if you have allergies – would you like some of our pollen down here?
    (((hugs)))

  9. Does Mayhem play Fetch, Keep Away, or Watch Mom Throw the Mouse?

    Black and purple?! You? Gasp.

Poor Wiji and Craftylily’s family. So awful.
