…Socks, that is. So named for the colorway – Brown Sheep Wildfoote, color Rock’n’Roll. The yarn was fabulous in the skein, but I didn’t expect them to knit up quite like this… And I swore I would never knit with Wildfoote again, because it was so irregularly spun and had such an unpleasantly stringish feel as I knit. (I will admit that the Wildfoote wears like iron – these socks are sturdy.)
After several years of washing and wearing, I finally had to admit that the socks had become too short and were cramping my toes.
So Jeanne now has a “new” pair of psychedelic socks. Enjoy, Jeanne! (Jeanne is also having some difficulty with blobs in her knitting photos, although she’s encountering a fluffy black and white blob. Very interesting.)
Chaos can’t come to the blog right now, as he’s bathing. If you leave a message, he will get back to you just as soon as he figures out how to type.
That is very sad about the socks :o( But it looks like Jeanne is happy with them!
At least, so far, Chaos hasn’t taken to eating your socks ;o) or has he?

I’m not a fan of Wildfoote either, splits too easily when you knit it, and it does feel “funny.” I made one pair and hated knitting them the whole time. Those socks never do get soft, although, you’re right, I wear them all the time and I’m never gonna wear those things out! They wear like iron.

You didn’t like the Wildfoote? I loved it! It did tend to split while I was knitting with it, but the finished socks were great! I’m glad to know they are long wearing. I’m also glad to see that Chaos is keeping clean:)

I was wondering about wildefoote (I love the spelling of the name). If it wears well it might be worth some trouble in the making. I tend to wear through socks fairly quickly.***CV

i haven’t been around very much lately. i have a lot of STOOPID work to do… and i haven’t had much blog ideas..
we’re having the very first ever stitch ‘n bitch tonight, which i’m quite excited about.
i also finally got my hands on some beautiful 100% merino wool for my bday that my friend bought me when she was in boston (so jealous).
it’s brown and i’m working on the kitty pi for naps. he’s enjoying chewing on the wool as we speak so i have a feeling he’s going to lurve it when he finally gets his paws on it.
😉 tell the cat chaotic that i said hello and that naps is waiting for a greeting back. he’ll show his face in a few days. he’s also recovered quite nicely and has taken to lying on his back, spread eagle.
he’s not keeping me up anymore. *i found sleeping pills*… hehe…
