The Knitty Professor was here! The Knitty Professor was here!

Congratulations to Sydney, Ann-Marie, and Tanya, who all won copies of the Project Spectrum OrangeBrownPurple mix cd! And thanks to everyone who entered.

I am very, very behind in bloglines – if you’re having a contest you’d like me to mention, please send me an email!

Visiting Professor
The Knitty Professor arrived late Tuesday afternoon.

“Luggage is bad, right? It means she’s staying??!” -Chaos

Really, Chaos seemed unable to decide whether he was ok with Michaele or not, whimsically alternating hissing with allowing her to pet him.

“Hurry up, big kitty. I want her to wave the goldfish wand toy around for me again.” -Mayhem

Michaele gifted me with some absolutely stunning Manos – thanks, Michaele!!

Tuesday we made it to Depth of Field Yarn and Needlework Unlimited before we were tuckered out. (No yarn pictures from me because I didn’t buy anything! Yes, I’ll wait while you recover.) We had some tasty food at Tum Rup Thai, then came back to my place to chat and knit. Wednesday morning, we chatted and knitted some more, then wandered over to the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. Here’s the Walker Art Center and the Lowry Tunnel (I-94):

I thought this bench from Jenny Holzer’s The Living Series really spoke to me as a knitter. Sound like something you’ve ever done while knitting?! 🙂

  1. Looks like you had a great time with your friend! Makes me want to go wander the city again, I don’t do that enough these days.

The “Good Morning yogurt & granola Contest” is open on my blog, take a look!

    Catherine 🙂

  2. I’m jealous that you guys had Thai. I told Dave that I didn’t want to cook yesterday and he suggested we go out for dinner, but he pulled the “it’s my birthday dinner” card (his birthday’s on SATURDAY) and ended up choosing this plastic not-so-fantastic Chinese buffet. Ugh, it was gross. I would have preferred Kraft Dinner and hot dogs at home.

  3. Don’t your friends believe in exposing you to the delights of other colours?

Love the bench! I just had one of those moments. I’m so behind on my SOSleeves!

  4. I’ve been told the sculpture garden is a must-see, so it’s definitely on my list for the next time I’m in Minneapolis. My company’s headquarters are there, so I’m sure I’ll be back soon. So far, I’ve only managed to squeeze in a visit to one yarn store – Clickety Sticks, which was a lot of fun.

  5. I want a picture of that bridge (and then it got very cool), with the snow swirling around it.

Sounds like you guys had a great time.

  6. If I still cross-stitched, I’d put that on a pillow.

And poor Chaos – you bring such disruption to his life! At least he doesn’t pee on the luggage…

  7. They don’t have statues of Prince and Paul Westerberg on every corner? Perhaps monkey bars made in the shape of Tommy Stinson’s hair? Nah, that would be dangerous

  8. So glad you had something fun to look forward to with all that has happened! Do you have a project in mind for your Manos, or has May already claimed it? 🙂

  9. Looks like you are having a good time, even if the cats aren’t certain. My sister used to have a cat that would pee in visitors’ suitcases because he was, well, pissed off.
    Love the bench verse.

  10. Sounds like you had a great time! Love the inscription over the bridge. I had a feeling that it was just Chaos that was standoffish with your houseguests… I knew little Miss May would be tempted by toys and pets (and catnip and who knows what all!).

  11. Looks like you both had a relaxing and leisurely time! From what I’ve seen of Chaos’ reactions in the past few years – he liked Michaela! Usually he just hides or spastically announces his displeasure?? Maybe May is calming him down 😉

  12. I was trying to read your post and Boogie kept sticking her head in front of the screen saying, “It’s Chaos! It’s Chaos!” I’ll catch up tonight. 🙂

  13. Oh, that sounds like fun! The Minneapolis Sculture Garden is one of my favorite places. The quote on the bench is so me. Hey it sounds like Chaos is starting to accept visitors. Thanks for the mix CD. I’m looking forward to it!
