  1. Glad you’re okay…one of my guildmates got online last night and said his sister had just passed over that bridge one minute before it collapsed. Poor guy was a bundle of nerves.

    Take good care, sweetie.

  2. I’m glad to hear that you’re okay. When I saw the news I immediately thought of you and Catherine (another blogger). Now off to her site to see if she’s posted and well. Hugs!

  3. Glad to hear your both safe and all right. My husband was watching the news and just kept saying, how absolutely creepy to have the brideg just collapse like that. We live in an area where we daily have to use a similar type of bridge (that did collapse years ago..galloping gertie)…this collapse just makes you think. Our thoughts are with those directly involved.

  4. I thought of you, too, but was pretty sure your commute didn’t involve that bridge. But I am still ever so glad to hear you are okay.

My husband was en route from south Mpls to WI at that time but had avoided the 35W bridge because the traffic was backed up all the way to Lake Street. He took 94 to 280 to 35W, but he thinks that if he had stayed in the backup he would [probably] have crossed the bridge 10-30 minutes before collapse. As it was, some of the people he met on 35W at Forest Lake were likely on the bridge at the critical time.

My boss at the accounting firm had crossed about 5 minutes before.
