Reflection. Meet May(hem). She’s sweet and sassy and taking no crap from Chaos, despite the fact that he outweighs her by 13 pounds or so. And she’s very curious about that other kitten in the mirror!
“What the hell is going on here?!”

She’s getting to know everything and everyone!
Chaos appears intrigued by her.
Have you had hissing and paw waving yet?
she’e so cute.
MAY! That’s adorable (hmmm, but I’m biased about the name…). I named my Mae after Mae West, because she’s such a sassy, brassy girl.
Chaos is too funny – oh, you’re in for just a barrel of laughs! I love the little kitten expeditions, when they start discovering all this new stuff. Heh, the Cat Witching Hour here is now over this morning…
Looks like Mayhem isn’t the only one fascinated by the kitten in the mirror. And I’m thinking that you may have, erm, *cleaned up* Chaos’ last comment for reading in a family blog. What a couple of cuties!
Chris- How did I know she was going to be black? I’m smart that way.
Mayhem is adorable, I had a cuddle with Brigitte’s Gandolf yesterday- I want a kitten! Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Love the name, she is so cute. I think they are both going to live up to their names, and you are going to have some pretty interesting posts for a long time.
I love the kitten in the mirror game. Unfortunately, they outgrow it too fast. I wonder whether they figure out that they’re looking at themself or if they just decide that other cat isn’t very friendly. (And it looks like they’re getting along nicely – at least one’s not trying to kill the other!)
I LOVE when youngsters (kittens, puppies, babies) discover mirrors. I still remember Chappy walking around behind one of ours when he was little, looking for the other puppy . . . just too cute. Watching little ones discover things like this? Priceless!
Oh my Quadruple black kitty cats! – I wonder what Chaos is thinking! Maybe he is wondering if she came out of the mirror from his reflection (before he grew up!) They do look a lot alike!
I’d love to be the fly on the wall to see them when you are sleeping – but glad she is asserting her rights! ‘I’m a black cat too, we both have plenty of attitude. Deal with it.’ hehe
Aww….the joys of parenthood. Looks like we are going through the same phase right now. You with May, and me with Moose. Don’t you just catch yourself staring in amazement and in awe of every little new discovery your little one makes?
Glad to hear you all are having so much fun over there.
That is just tooooo cute. Do kittens NOT see themselves? It’s like she’s looking through a window into another room. It’s cool Chaos is keeping a close eye on her.
Little Mayhem is adorable. And be warned — that reflection fascination may not go away, our Guinness is about 7 now and is still convinced that that ‘other tortie’ in the mirror is out to get her. They fight all the time 😉
That is a very artful photo essay. It’s sort of a look at the past and the future looking at themselves. It’s so circular! I hope that makes sense – I just loved it!
Kittens and mirrors are one of my favorite things. They are so funny! Trying to figure out what’s going on, puffing of so they look bigger than that other cat in the mirror. To funny.
She is adorable! When I told my husband you got another cat his immediate reaction was “no more cats, we can’t have more pets”. Maxine found another basset hound in the fireplace yesterday though. She is surely the world’s dumbest dog.
OMG I LOVE the new sister! There is just something special abt black cats. And Chaos is being SO nice! Or are you not taking the spitting/swatting pictures??

Little May is adorable! She looks like a little Chaos! It looks like they are getting along pretty well so far.
What an adorable pair! I hope she lives up to her name 😉
FANTASTIC name! And it does look like they’re getting along well. 🙂
Mayhem and Chaos. Perfect names. They look very cute together! Congrats on your new baby.

The third picture made me think of the Star Wars poster with Anakin and the shadow of grown up Darth Vader in the background. Ok, I’m strange….
May is so cute!! Poor Chaos, he looks so confused – his world has completely changed!

Welcome Mayhem!
She’s really cute. I’m sure she’ll keep Chaos on his toes.
So how is Chaos taking it?
Are you going to change your blog name?
So cute. Are cats like dogs? Are they pack animals? My dogs don’t always get along, yet there’s definitely a “we” mentality with the two of them.
omg. i’m in love! they’re both so cute together! i love it!
hello may! hello chaos!!
soooooo adorable!
how is chaos dealing? i hope he’s as in love as i am!
CUTE! Makes me want a new kitty rightnow!
She’s so cute. Everyone seems to be getting new cats this week. I’m getting kitten envy. 🙂
Congratulations.
Gwen
Poor Chaos! Life as he knew it is never going to be the same. At least he has somebody else to share modelling duties 😉

Awwwwwww Serge hasn’t fully grasped the mirror thing yet, he still wants the toy on the other side…
I think Chaos is going to be a good big brother after he gets used to her 🙂

You’re going to have to change the name of this category to “Those Cats”. 🙂
so cute. i love kittens
and i love the name mayhem
You know eventually the hissing stops and then they start playing together and giving each other baths etc…
Boo and Ducky are really just starting to get along and Meg is taking Ducky home this week.
Wasn’t Stephanie wonderful and glad she liked the beer
Welcome, May. Sass it up over there with Chaos!
