Several weeks ago, when I went to the Sculpture Garden, I took a few more pictures but never got around to posting them. Whoops. Anyway, the Sculpture Garden is located on the north side of the Walker Art Center. Here’s a picture of both the old and the new parts of the Walker – can you tell which is which?!
I love reading this every day on my way to and from work:
Remember the stone bench in the Sculpture Garden with the very odd saying on it? It’s only one of the 28 benches that make up Selections From the Living Series by Jenny Holzer. Here’s another bench:
And another… (Please note that I have finally turned the heel on my purple Trekking sock but that’s about it – those bibs have been taking up all my sock knitting time!)
Speaking of bibs, Chaos still seems wary of me…
You live in a cool town.
Hi Chris- Because I’m such a fan of MTM- I know, it’s cliche- I’d love to visit there. That sculptural place looks amazing.
And Chaos, be afraid, be very afraid!
Wow, what interesting quotes!
Love the writing on the side of the art center – aren’t we all just bits and pieces? 🙂
I so love the sculpture garden! Chaos I hate to tell you this but there will probably be another bib after this one.
That reminds me…I have got to get over to the Walker before the Diane Arbus exhibit closes. I really want to see that.
Hah, interesting quotes.
Cool quotes! Cooler (?) kitty!
Beware Chaos, beware of the bib. 🙂
I love the quotes! Especially the one about the pain. Oh yeah. Never experienced that, nope. Poor Chaos….
What wonderful quotes – I wonder how many people wander by and never even read them.
I remember way back in HS when I still lived in Wisconsin, we took a field trip to the Walker and saw a Jenny Holzer exhibit. I was totally blown away by her, and still am. Haven’t been to the sclupture garden yet this summer, I need to take the boys up there soon!
Love the “it won’t hurt” quote! Isn’t that just SO the truth? If it wasn’t going to hurt, they wouldn’t have to say anything! And the description of turning inside out is priceless!!
Poor Chaos…wearing those bibs must feel like a millstone… 😉
rofl ohhhh I LOVE that first bench! hummm must be another FAVOURITE!!! *sticks tongue out*
I should show that to Moose, I remember I had some kind of wound and moose said he needed to get something to clean it. He opens the packet and before he puts this little wet cloth on my wound I asked if it was going to hurt. He replied simply with a no. So stupid me holds my wound out and when contact was made……. the yells could he heard a mile away. THAT FRIGGIN STUNG LIKE YOU WOULDN’T BELIEVE!!!
Who’d have thoght that town could be so exciting. I used to just think about lake-side cabins and lots of snow.
Nice Trek and the sock looks great. You better be good to that cat…cat karma can be quite bad.
hehe operate with a minimum of interference? I guess I haven’t been where I am long enough then ;o) Great place – I really wish I could have convinced Mr.J to take a trip there with me in our cartripping days :o) And – yay for purple socks! I’m always amazed at your productivity, bibs, socks or whatnot!
Cool! (I’m also digging your template.)
I laugh everytime I think of the Walker Art Center. When I was in late Jr. High or so my mom was taking a weekly class at MCC on how to use her screen reading software on her computer. Occassionally her driver who took her into the cities couldn’t do so, so Dad and my sister and I would take her. Then the three of us would have to amuse ourselves in the area for three hours or so. One time I got dad to take us to the WAC. Now, my dad is pretty cultured for a farmer but the only positive thing he had to say about our visit to the art center was about some modern metal sculptures in the lobby; “That is some good welding there!’ ROTFLOL!
I love those little sayings. There was one really strange one you posted earlier, right? Nice ‘writing on the wall’ too.
Chaos on that exercycle is hysterical! And I don’t think he looks the least wary of you. He looks like he wants you to pet him or feed him treats.
Love the sock, the quotations and (always) the cat. Little does he know that he IS modeling the bib. Hee hee; she outwits the feline again.
Proximity to fame…my brother is an architect and he worked on the Walker last year!!
I love those quotations. That sock is very pretty!
