I might still be hiding under the covers when you read this…

Yesterday I saw the first snow of the season, whipping past my windows on gusts of wind up to 50 miles per hour. Blech. (Even knowing that the snow didn’t stick, I still feel like hibernating until April.)

“What was that?! Outside the window? That tiny fluffy white bird was moving fast!” -Mayhem

  1. As I opened up your page, Gandalf perked up and started pawing the screen when he saw Mayhem. Aww!

I saw our first snow fluttering last week, and I the leaves aren’t even off the trees yet!

  2. Yeah. I heard about the snow up in the great white north, but was hoping they were exaggerating. We’re cold and getting colder down here in Middle Earth and it feels too early. Beautiful shot of May!

  3. *sigh* It’s not gonna happen here, but I really love when there’s snow on my birthday (next Monday).

May, I’m sure you’ll get more chances to stare at that kind of really fast white bird…

  4. It has been getting quite cold here, too. We’ve already had frosts. Neatnik no longer wears shorts to school. Winter is certainly coming.

  5. We’ve had some flurries, but nothing has stuck to the ground yet. Thank goodness. Though I have to admit that a sneaky little part of me is kind of looking forward to hibernation.

  6. It was hailing so hard this morning, Julia didn’t want to take the bus. She asked me to drive her. I think she was kind of freaked out, what with the whipping wind and the little ice pellets.

  7. I just don’t think I could survive any farther north than Virginia. I want to hibernate and it’s not nearly cold enough for snow! Stay warm!

  8. It snowed in Mpls? Really? Not here. We got the wind, though. Gotta go ’round the house and make sure all the windows are latched tight.

  9. Oh ick. I saw a bit of frost on cars when I was out and about yesterday morning. I’m just not ready for this yet. These shorter days just kill me.

  10. I guess it would be rude to say we will be sunny and in the low 80s today. I hope it doesn’t stick for many weeks.

May looks very sleek in that photo.

  11. yep–it did. Settle in, make soup and knit some socks.
The cat door seems to be getting less traffic…..

Not sure if I can make myself get out the x-country skis yet

  12. Oy. So far the precipitation around here is still liquid, but it’s getting colder. We might see a few objects of frozen variety this evening and tomorrow, though. Darn it, just when I was really getting the hang of riding my horse, the season ends… glad I have five feline lapwarmers at home, though.

  13. Mayhem looks so elegant in that picture!

They are calling for snow here tomorrow and wednesday. Ick! I have to work. Which means I have to go out in it. Ick.

  14. Yo! That’s scary! We have had some good hail that we almost took to be snow but… nope! I am being a paranoid mom lately hoping each night that it stays warm so my daughter (newly liscenced) does not have any ice at all on the roads as she heads in to class!)

  15. Ya May, you got it right. We just step over our expensive S curve scratch scratch too. Momma just gave you an award! Go check out her blog to see what it is. (it’s the rules)
